Cora to blame for last night's loss? If Redsox miss playoffs, could Cora be on hot seat?  Do Sox need to win this series, to prove they should invest before deadline?

00:42him fired up if somebody's criticizing one of his guys like a cora is not going to get fired up to

00:48criticize one of his own he that's not his personality it never really has been he's always a

00:52guy that if you see him fired up it's because he doesn't agree with what somebody's saying about

00:56one of his people well or if you say he should have managed when his graduation yes he then he

01:02should be fired up that you came off a 10 game win streak and you're the time to win baseball games is

01:11now and you are you know this this this part of the schedule right since they started winning when

01:19curtis was in another state has been circled as being very important for this baseball team because

01:24it's a fair test right of what you are right and they're they're failing it if you don't make the

01:29playoffs i i probably say that it's i mean i would think i would probably do it if i was the owner if

01:37they don't red sox don't make the playoffs i fire alex core at the end of the season because there's no

01:43way you can say all right we're going to continue to keep going with this guy who in the first half of

01:50seasons has done decent jobs he's done a good job but in the second half of the season this will be

01:56what four years in a row he's not been able to manage this team to where we expect him to go

03:59the break as not worthy of investing in for this season i would you would if you show me and i told

04:10you these are when i say investing i mean like making a big move that is uh you know at some risk when it

04:18comes to the future right but is a move for the now like a like a jaron duran move or whatever right

04:25well if if if i could get more for jaron duran in the offseason i look at this season based on

04:32and we talked about these series coming out of the all-star uh break i look at it and go

04:38all right well you can't beat the good teams consistently why would i invest into a team

04:46that's not going to be able to make some noise what about this greg trade for an incredibly talented

04:52yet underachieving third baseman with the san francisco giants maybe they could get him here

04:57why would you invest greg if you have them because you because you have to you have to improve the club

05:05but if you see that the club is not going to get any better and you can get by definition you would

05:11get better right but if you could get more for duran and this is the baseball brett take if you could

05:16get more for duran in the offseason and based on the performance of what your team looks like

05:21you know the the first 15 games after the all-star break and it looks like you're not going to be

05:28able to do much then wait till the offseason up i want to invest but up until the last three years

05:33this isn't even a conversation the notion that the red sox would not add at the deadline was a foreign

05:39concept right but they're they're a whole new different ball club they're not according to sam well

05:45they're a whole new different ball club and the fact that out of the last what it looks like

05:50three years in a row you finished in what last place it's a special time and now you're on pace

05:56to maybe not finishing you probably not finishing last i mean we're a game back from the yankees

06:25of a jump from the last couple of seasons yeah but if our score has improved a little bit i know my

06:30thing is i don't think you're going to come in last place but if you don't make the playoffs

06:41you these next like i said 15 games because if you look at these you know the phillies the dodgers

06:48the twins the astros if you go through that stretch and i think the astros might be right up until the

06:56trade deadline a little bit after it if you get through this and you're like well we only won

07:02two games in our last 10 games why would i invest in a team like that because that's the team you invest

07:10and they obviously have huge issues you need to find but if you're not very good and it's also

07:15tough because the yankees after the blue jays got the phillies the rays and the marlins and my i

07:20think that and even um sam kennedy talked about it when we had him at lake winniposaki

07:24is like what type of team are we if you come out of this all-star break and you win two games

09:08into this the game tonight so like yes you would invest you would invest in a team that i don't i

09:14don't think that they're going to only win one game in the next week no no i said one game against

09:20philly and one game against the dodges so you lost all three series you would invest in this team

09:25they've already invested in the team they spent a ton of money in the offseason it would all be for

09:29not if they don't make the playoffs that's my point so then what are you i don't know what you're

09:38to move on from guys like duran yes they have one of the best farm systems of baseball you have a ton

09:51as a socks fan you use them to get players at the deadline because you can afford to sign

09:59maybe they will get rid of some of those guys and go out and get a nathan of all day or joe ryan that
