00:00One of the positions that people do talk about when it comes to your everyday position players,

00:04third base and Matt Shaw, who's struggled with the bat.

00:07The glove has been great, though.

00:09How much does that weigh in terms of the defense he brings every day

00:12versus the offense he brings every day and your guys' decision-making

00:15and what you might do at third base?

00:18Yeah, I mean, it's something we're definitely looking at.

00:20His defense, like you said, has been great.

00:22You know, he's provided value to the Cubs.

00:24You know, you go to baseball reference, you know, 0.9, you know, B-War or something like that,

00:28which is not nothing, and it's certainly something that's helped us win some games

00:31in some certain places, but, you know, obviously, offensively,

00:34we want more out of that position, and, you know, that could just be Matt, right?

00:37Like, Matt, we feel really strongly about his bat.

00:40We think that he's going to be a good hitter.

00:41You look around the league at, you know, young hitters that are going to play really,

00:45really well that aren't currently, just haven't made the adjustment yet to the league.

00:48You saw what happened with Pete last year.

00:50We fully expect that to be Matt as he continues to make adjustments,

00:53but we're also at some critical times right now where development can't be the focus

00:57on our major league club.

00:58So, you know, it's something that we'll be looking into, but, you know,

01:01we have a lot of confidence in Matt Shaw and his ability to be a great player

01:04for us moving forward.
