00:00Louis, Daniel, I spoke to you both in the dressing room, not what I expect.
00:04I have a professional at all times, I obey my instructions, any questions, let's go to work.
00:10Identical records for these two unbeaten talents.
00:14Britain's domestic champion Louis Edmondson goes in with Oleksandr Usyk's
00:21protégé Daniel Lap in this six foot six inch, 78 inch reach.
00:26Southpaw is used to performing at these big boxing events.
00:32Could be a chess type of matchup in the light heavyweight division.
00:36Boxing brains will tick over their quality operators, Barry.
00:41Yeah, they're both thinking fighters of course, but the advantage lies with the taller guy here
00:46who just has to, you know, it's Edmondson who's got to close that gap and do it smartly.
00:51He's a swivel switcher here, Edmondson, so he might be able to get the fluency
00:56in the movement, the switch stance quick and jump into attacks and surprise Lap in,
00:59but the danger of walking off the shots also.
01:02Yeah, I think openings will be hard to come by in these early stages.
01:06It's about being smart, don't get greedy, lots of feints.
01:11We've already seen Lap in the first few seconds, feint with the feet and the hands.
01:16I think for Edmondson, target the body with the jab, try and work back upstairs then.
01:21It's for Lap in, he's just got to keep the structure, hands high, elbows tucked in tight,
01:28don't really give Edmondson much of a target to hit.
01:31And then when he starts looking for it, you're pepping him with that softball jab.
01:34Lap in will be looking for the raking long jab that he possesses from that southpaw stance.
01:41So much he's learned from being alongside Usyk in training camps and the ring craft that he's perfected.
01:5411-0, four knockouts, but 11-02 for Louis Edmondson, right hand getting in close,
02:02trying to rough up him, good tactics.
02:04Yeah, he squared his feet up a little bit, it was the right idea.
02:07Again, we talk about it all the time, that acceleration of pace, and we started there.
02:10We went from out of the distance, just really quick in his feet,
02:14and then landed with a nice little right hand.
02:16He's got a lovely jab, Lap, and he really has.
02:18But every now and again, he goes wide with the shot.
02:20He tries to throw on almost a long right hook.
02:23I think there's an opportunity there for Edmondson to take his foot to the left
02:26and throw the right hand, try and time Lap in onto the shot.
02:30Say what Edmondson's already doing, he's not really having success with it,
02:34but it might help him out. Every time he throws Lap in,
02:37Edmondson's throwing straight away, and that's going to be good.
02:40That'll just start the process of Lap in trying to get any consistency in his work.
02:48I mean, the problem with Edmondson here, you're asking to do stuff he doesn't like to do.
02:51He likes to sit back and walk, you want the shots,
02:54but he's got to be the aggressor here at some point.
02:56Yep, he's got to switch it up, Edmondson, Daniel Lap in trying to close the distance,
03:03and his brother Sergei stood up at ringside, just behind Gordon Ramsay.
03:08A lot of celebrities here tonight for the big one, what an event it is.
03:16Body shot from Edmondson was decent.
03:19Bills coming, Bills coming, Bills coming, Bills coming.
03:34Get impatient with him. When you want to go for it, occupy the space,
03:50few little touches, then bring it off that, all right?
03:52Good. Nice and fast with his feet.
03:54You've always got to hold him.
03:55Yeah, of course he has, because he doesn't want to be nowhere near you.
03:59A couple of big breaths.
04:02Listen, that's the round we're looking for.
04:03He's going to get frustrated, he cannot go first.
04:05He's just looking for that step back, that can.
04:07Plenty of faints. Plenty of faints.
04:09Be patient, when you want to go first, occupy, occupy, occupy bowline.
04:13Yeah, take a look.
04:14All right? Lovely, you look fucking brilliant.
04:17Stay nice and calm, all right?
04:18Corners!
04:19There you go, Luke.
04:20Brilliant one, keep it up.
04:23The red corner, very happy with Louis Edmondson's start.
04:27Keep it up, he's going to get frustrated.
04:30The man from Kyiv in the Ukraine, the 28-year-old Daniel Lapin.
04:35Highly intelligent uni graduate, and he writes poetry in his spare time.
04:40Do you do a bit of that, boys?
04:42Badly.
04:42I do the opposite to what a poet's supposed to do, or some of the poems, you know, when they rhyme,
04:48mine just don't make sense at all.
04:50That's not poetry, ignorance you are, let's just get on with the action.
04:53There's that jab, trying to work the body, Daniel Lapin.
04:59And we saw overcome Dylan Colon, who was 14-0 in Riyadh.
05:04Oh, no!
05:05Just difficult to get to, Lapin with that jab, and the left hand he's trying to find as well as Edmondson comes in.
05:11He landed a nice short left-hander there, Lapin as Edmondson did come in.
05:16Nice, fast shot there.
05:18But Edmondson, it's not a bad tactic here, he's not rushing forward, he's bouncing off on his feet,
05:24and he is trying to frustrate Lapin, so you've got to be careful he doesn't lean back too far on that back foot,
05:29leave that chin exposed for the likes of that left hand that landed.
05:33I bet again, that jab to the body from Edmondson important, on the right hand, I think start low,
05:38finish high, leans back sometimes, Lapin under attack.
05:42Again, the jab, the reactions, the speed and accuracy of Lapin, very impressive.
05:48He's always thinking, isn't he, 2-3, moves ahead Lapin.
05:53The thing with Edmondson as well, he's trying to negate the length that Lapin has by sitting on that back foot,
06:00having his feet wide, he's bringing that front foot closer, but sitting right far back on that back foot.
06:06So he just takes him with a bit of a distance there from Lapin, that's not a bad idea there for Edmondson,
06:11just means he can move his feet as quick as he would like if he has to get out of trouble.
06:21Again, trying the jab, that Southport shot right hand from Edmondson, he's got to be in and out quick.
06:30Both of them really good amateurs, so skills are plenty.
06:36It's a case of how they can turn that into a brilliant professional performance on such a big stage.
06:43I think Pinky is going to be the friend here, Edmondson.
06:48It's just the way Lapin lines up into that, and he's looking to explode with the shots, and you'll draw that out.
06:52And if there is a mistake, you've got to count it, you can't wait, you're not going to get many opportunities.
06:57So if you do see a flaw, go for the shot.
07:01Do you think this is going to be tough to score?
07:04Yeah, certainly the early wrongs will.
07:06I think somebody is going to make a mistake or someone's going to commit.
07:09I think that's when, if it catches fire, that's when it will be.
07:11But the early wrongs will be nobody wanted to make any silly mistakes.
07:15No one coming over that front for too much.
07:17Good shot, good work from Daniel Lapin.
07:20Edmondson tries to come out with a couple of clusters around the back of the head.
07:24There's some class from the Ukrainian.
07:29Meanwhile, Adi has Hamza Shiraz with him.
07:35It's not Hamza Shiraz, it's the king of New York that I have with me.
07:38Hamza, how are you enjoying this?
07:40Yeah, no, it's good, man.
07:41I was saying it's good to be here as a boxing fan, just enjoying it.
07:45This is a weight class that I think you'll be in in the next few years.
07:48Do you kind of scope out the guys or just enjoy it as a fan?
07:51Just enjoying it at the minute.
07:53I've been around boxing long enough to know that you can fight most of these guys.
07:57So if it happens, it happens.
07:59And the main event, a guy you know well, Daniel Dubois, bidding to become Undisfit.
08:03What chance do you give him against the great Oleksandr Usyk?
08:05He's got all the chances in the world.
08:07He's got youth power, explosiveness.
08:10But at the end of the day, he is fighting a boxing genius.
08:13So we'll see what happens.
08:15Canelo next.
08:16I think I've earned my chance and let's see how it goes.
08:21Well done, Hamza, enjoy the night.
08:22Thank you very much.
08:23Brilliant to hear from Hamza Shiraz, who we saw what a destructive mode.
08:30This time last week against Edgar Belanga.
08:34And at his right, he is now the king of New York.
08:36Frank Warren was saying it was one of the great away victories by a British fighter.
08:42And Hamza has put himself right in the mix for the biggest fights like Canelo.
08:47Yeah, he really has.
08:48There would have been a lot of pressure on the young man as well,
08:51after what happened against Adamez.
08:55He got the job done, didn't he?
08:56He looked very, very good in doing so.
08:58And Emerson really trying to force the pace here.
09:01I think when they're in the clinches, they get close.
09:04He's trying to rough up Lapin and trying to unsettle the Ukrainian.
09:08Darren just letting his hands go, even though they're not landing a clean shot,
09:12it just stops lapping from working, doesn't it?
09:16I thought Hamza summed up the main event very well, didn't he, just then?
09:21No, I'm not as good as we did.
09:22Like, we just want to get something to jump for.
09:26You'll have your job one day, Barry.
09:29Right hand from Edmondson.
09:31Let's get back to this one.
09:34Who's going to come out victorious?
09:35It's still hard to say it, because they're almost taking the fight by the scruff of the neck,
09:39because they're both thinkers, so they're going to be cautious with their approach.
09:43You kind of wait for someone to grab the fight by the scruff of the neck,
09:47really get to work, get in their groove.
09:51And if Edmondson can stop Lapin from doing that, then it gets interesting.
09:54He's someone who gets in their groove, he gets in a nice rhythm early.
09:59But not as comfortable as we've seen him in the past, Lapin.
10:02That's because Edmondson's a good fighter.
10:06British and Commonwealth champion, yet to taste defeat as a pro.
10:11And he said plenty of light heavyweights turn this down, this fight with Daniel Lapin.
10:16I mean, you wouldn't want to go and fight it, would you?
10:18He's so tall and difficult.
10:20But Edmondson says, look, I've got to do this.
10:23It's the stage, it's the opportunity, it could change my life.
10:26Yeah, and even though he's a champion, Edmondson, and he's a good fighter,
10:29his style doesn't always, no, not always as super fan-friendly.
10:32That's just what he's good at.
10:34He can be good to watch, by the way, and also he's never good to watch.
10:37So sometimes you have to take that risk to box down and defeat your fighter.
10:40And by the way, you're off with a fight on this bill.
10:43You're fighting whoever you're taking it, aren't you?
10:44Good day from Lapin.
10:54Yes, feeder moving well, Daniel Lapin.
10:57And Edmondson's just got to try and find burst, but again, Lapin tries to counter.
11:02I don't mind that from Edmondson, really committing to the attack,
11:06really driving forward.
11:08He's going to miss, yes, but you've got to let the shots go.
11:11We're talking about the opportunity here and what this could lead to.
11:14Oh, good work.
11:15Sorry, left hook there.
11:16Good work from Edmondson.
11:18Yeah, that was really good from the Southampton man.
11:21He's taking the risk in there.
11:25Right hand at the corner, applauding him here, Edmondson,
11:29saying to get into his groove, the bring.
11:39Meanwhile, Russ Amber, who can't be in the corner
11:43with Daniel Lapin because he's wrapping the hands of the great Alexander Usyk,
11:51who's been shown to the crowd.
11:53Thousands are in here already as Usyk gets his hands wrapped.
11:59Daniel Dubois is not at Wembley, and it's quarter past eight.
12:04That freaks me out. That can't be right.
12:09He must be here. I mean, that can be right.
12:12I mean, that's a real risk with the traffic around London.
12:17I mean, you've got to be a comfortable set yourself.
12:19But you do what you do. Whatever your method is, your method is.
12:21Your process to get ready for the fight, but most people like to get there enough time to
12:26settle down and prepare yourself.
12:27Ring walks, 9.45, 10 o'clock. Very strange.
12:31I wonder what Lalex thinks upstairs.
12:33I remember Lalex sleeping sometimes.
12:35He got there so early, and then he went and knocked someone out in about 90 seconds.
12:40Incredible. I like that thing. He'll come in with his hands wrapped, though.
12:44He won't even be able to do it.
12:45But he can't.
12:45Of course he can't.
12:46I've got to get marked by the official.
12:48But you know, if that's how he gets to it, and everything's last minute, last note,
12:53because maybe that takes away the panic from you.
12:56I don't quite know how it works, but it seems unusual for sure.
12:58There was no panic from Daniel Dubois in front of 96,000 last September,
13:03when he blew away Anthony Joshua.
13:06So let's see what happens.
13:08Main event is just a couple of fights away.
13:12Daniel Lappin, Usyk's great maiden with Lewis Edmondson.
13:15Lui likes to call himself.
13:19I just feel like Edmondson's getting a bit of a foothold in this contest,
13:22really starting to drive forward and really trying to make things happen.
13:27And he's always dangerous on the count of Barry Lappin,
13:29but yet to really find that one clean shot.
13:32Yeah, that's true, and it is Edmondson pushing the pace.
13:36Because it's so scrappy, it's going to be a really hard fight to score for the judges,
13:39I feel, because there's no real clean, massively clean shots.
13:42That was my point earlier.
13:44Emerson just looking at his corner team.
13:46Jacob McMillan and Amar Khan in there.
13:50They're a tight-knit bunch, and they fancy the upset.
13:55That was a brilliant matchmaking, by the way.
13:57Authentical record.
13:59Credits of both for taking the contest.
14:02And again, both in form as well.
14:04Not just Authentical records when you had a really good win four fights ago.
14:08They're both in the best form of their career.
14:09They're both in the best form of their career.
14:12Well, he beat down Aziz in the amazes, didn't he?
14:15And then he stepped up in levels as a pro to upset Aziz, Lewis Edmondson.
14:22And then he beat Oluwatosin Kijawa in Bournemouth.
14:26He was also undefeated, the man based in Bristol.
14:29So Edmondson really confident and getting momentum in this.
14:34Yeah, he is.
14:35I really like the aggression in his work.
14:38Surprising Lapin.
14:40Good shot from Edmondson.
14:42And Lapin just troubled for the first time in the fight.
14:45And another right hand.
14:47And he has to hold here.
14:48And these are just one or two worrying moments for the unbeaten Ukrainian.
14:53I've not seen him like that before.
14:55Do you know what?
14:56I think their feet could get tangled up a little bit,
14:57but I still think it was a shot that he felt for sure.
15:00And I was just going to say,
15:01Edmondson's willing to throw that extra shot.
15:03That's the difference here at the minute.
15:07Another thing to add to the pot,
15:09if Daniel Lapin gets beaten here,
15:11how's it going to affect Oleksandr Usyk?
15:14They're super, super tight.
15:15I know Usyk's the consummate professional,
15:18but if he goes back to the dressing room as a loser,
15:20I just wonder.
15:21You can never underestimate how selfish fighters are.
15:25I mean, because you have to be,
15:27because it's all about you and your life on the line and blah, blah, blah.
15:30But it's true, it is.
15:32Your whole focus is about yourself.
15:34Have to be selfish fighters.
15:38But Daniel Lapin definitely lost that round.
15:40And it's getting interesting at light heavyweight,
15:45and he is at Wembley now.
15:48Daniel Neubois with Solomon, his little brother.
15:53Father Dave just behind, dressed in green,
15:57and getting a good ovation as the fans see him on the screens.
16:02Well, we thought it was his date with Destiny back in September,
16:06but this really is.
16:08Yeah, it really is.
16:09Again, you go back to, I think technically,
16:11he's the same fighter he's always been,
16:13because he was always good technically at Daniel Lapin.
16:15It's mental is the difference.
16:17The way he walked into the ring against Anthony Joshua,
16:19full of confidence,
16:20I thought he was going to freeze,
16:22because it was all Joshua's fans.
16:24And he walked in like they were all there for him.
16:26Corners, 10 seconds.
16:28Seconds out, round five.
16:3722 fights between them, no defeats yet.
16:41The 28-year-old Daniel Lapin and Louis Edmondson, who's 29,
16:46is giving away five inches in height.
16:49But these raids are just confusing.
16:53Lapin, who might have won the first couple of rounds,
16:55I think Edmondson's come back, it's close.
16:57Yeah, I think so.
16:58He's got to be busy with that lead hand-lapping.
17:00He's neglecting it at times,
17:01but I think that's due to the crisp counter-punching from Edmondson,
17:06stopping and punching at times.
17:08And I like these bursts, these attacks,
17:11that Edmondson throws in every now and again,
17:13and hit the shoulders, it hit the arms, just,
17:16it'll hit anything.
17:16But if you're a judge watching it, it shows intent.
17:21With him.
17:22Whether Lapin, especially in the first two rounds,
17:24maybe he's landed with the better shots, the cleaner shots.
17:29What he hasn't done, what he's taken away from him,
17:31Edmondson, with doing this.
17:33In a lot of scrapping,
17:34there's no consistency in the work of Lapin.
17:36He's not allowed him to throw in combinations,
17:38it's all single shots with Lapin.
17:41He's trying to disrupt the rhythm of Lapin,
17:44with these tactical raids in and out.
17:47Well, Louis Edmondson, it's not how he normally boxes.
17:54I like that, tactical raids.
17:56You do one of those out there, and that was good.
18:01When's your best line going to come,
18:02in the late second main event time?
18:04That was it, son.
18:06Good work there from Lapin, though.
18:08Although the red corner cheered, he was good with his feet.
18:12This really is intriguing, this one in the light heavyweight division,
18:16which I think is the best in boxing at the moment.
18:19It's red hot.
18:19It is, it really is, across the board.
18:24And as we've said, the opportunity for these two to really throw themselves in the mix.
18:28Only the top fighter that still win here,
18:30just walking onto the shot there.
18:32Heads coming close.
18:34Better be Ervin Bibel at the top of the tree, of course.
18:37We wait for their trilogy.
18:39They've pulled Turkey out of the ship, but they won't it next year.
18:42And there's Callum Smith, David Benavidez and Anthony Yard,
18:46coming up in November, and a whole host of British 12-stone-7 guys.
18:52Interesting, he threw a good three or four-shot combination there, Lapin.
18:56It seemed to me as if he was pulling the shots ever so slightly,
18:59not really fully committing to them.
19:02That's where he was coming back.
19:04That's a sure sign of that.
19:07You want to get the hands back quite as quick as you can,
19:09but once you throw, you've got to commit to the shots every time.
19:18Approaching the halfway mark, who's ahead?
19:21I think I'd lean towards Edmerson, if I'm honest.
19:27But this is better from Lapin, holding the centre of the ring.
19:29What that stops Edmerson doing is, when he does plough forward,
19:33you've got somewhere to go.
19:34You can move away from the attacks.
19:36As you see here, when he backs him into the corner on the road,
19:39he's got a chance to land.
19:40Well, July has been a quite fabulous month of boxing.
19:50We've still got Gardner and Belotti at the end of it,
19:53but August could be pretty hot, too.
19:56Rafferty Chamberlain, August the 23rd in Altriga.
20:01Really looking forward to that domestic dust-up.
20:04It's a double later that night in America.
20:07It's Rivera and Cordova for the WBA Interim Flyweight title.
20:13Both those cards are live.
20:15Part of your regular DAZN subscription.
20:19How many fight nights have we been treated to already this year?
20:22It's been amazing.
20:24It really has. It's been an absolutely fantastic travel.
20:27But long may it continue, Adam. Long may it continue.
20:32There's Sergei in there with his brother.
20:36Just trying to get him going. Daniels had moments in this one.
20:41But Louis Edmondson has made it difficult for him to get into his groove and utilize his
20:49height and reach advantages.
20:51And that amateur record, almost 300 bouts for Lappin.
20:55But he took time turning pro.
20:57And have we seen the best performance yet from Lappin?
21:01That was good, though. He jabbed upstairs, he threw the left to the body.
21:04I'd like to see him just bring his feet in there in the second phase of attack.
21:07But I just feel as if Edmondson's just been a bit quicker with the counters and
21:11showing that bit more aggression.
21:12But he does get him through a groove, Lappin.
21:16And when he does, he's a tough, tough man to beat.
21:19Yet to fully see that.
21:21And Edmondson, it's not essential.
21:24But when he comes forward, he gets that left foot on the outside.
21:26And it helps if you do it.
21:28So you don't have to do it, but it helps.
21:30And that means when Lappin throws that long jab and he steps in,
21:32Edmondson loops his left-hand jab around the side.
21:35Look at that jab doubling up from Edmondson.
21:39Edmondson negating that reach advantage of Lappin.
21:46He's sort of fissuring around, isn't he, Edmondson?
21:49Those shoulders, he's moving, he's quick on his feet.
21:52He's proving an elusive target.
21:53And you see, a lot of that bounce does.
21:55It makes it hard for Lappin to read his rhythm.
21:57So you're not quite sure when he's going to attack.
21:59It's not always when he sets his feet.
22:01And that's usually what Lappin does.
22:03That's how he frustrates his opponent.
22:05You constantly see that little hop.
22:09A little bounce.
22:11Is he in? Is he coming? Is he not coming?
22:13Is he coming? Is he not coming?
22:14And then he jumps in with an attack.
22:16And he had an opportunity there, Edmondson.
22:18That was a sloppy one too from Lappin.
22:20Good right to the body though.
22:23Yeah, lovely body shot from Daniel Lappin.
22:26Trying to get those fluid hands moving.
22:29It is a step up for Lappin here tonight.
22:31Edmondson definitely more experienced as a pro in the 11 fights.
22:36Good body work from Lappin.
22:38It's swaying this way and that.
22:41The penny for the thoughts of the judges.
22:44I totally agree with Darren.
22:46I think he looks like Lappin ahead, but it is all scrappy and tight.
22:50But just the energy in his work, I think.
22:51And when he does it, commit to an attack.
22:54And there's been more weight than the shot.
22:55Timeout, timeout, timeout, timeout.
23:00Timeout, Marcus McDonnell.
23:12Chose the wrong shot there Lappin.
23:13He avoided the right hand to the body.
23:16He doesn't there, but he could have thrown an uppercut.
23:18He could have thrown the right.
23:24Right hand from Lappin.
23:26Edmondson missing.
23:27Scrappy in there in the sixth round.
23:30How much is landing clean?
23:31He's the better of the two in sight as well, I'd say, Edmondson.
23:35He likes to keep it long lapping.
23:38Edmondson is just having an act of shortening the shots up inside.
23:42That was good, though.
23:44No real power in the shot, but better.
23:57Martin McCauley, very, very popular heavyweight.
24:04Well, Beckett, great to see him.
24:08I think he did some sparring with Daniel Dubois, didn't he?
24:11Great guy and a very funny guy.
24:14And there's a legend, Bruno.
24:21Gordon Ramsay, make your tea tonight.
24:24Do we chant for him as well?
24:26I don't know.
24:28I know Tom Sellers.
24:31Michelin star double star chef will be watching tonight.
24:34He's a big boxing fan.
24:35I've heard that half of the Spurs and the Arsenal teams are going to be here.
24:44Lots of sporting celebrities, cinematic celebrities, all due here tonight.
24:50Keep your eye out for them.
24:51I mean, it's the place to be, isn't it?
24:55It's the hottest ticket in town tonight.
25:04Who's winning this one?
25:05We saw the fan zone beforehand.
25:08It was 70-30 to Lappin.
25:10Now it's flipped over.
25:12It's now 60% to Louis Edmondson.
25:15Interesting.
25:16Well, I just think he's been pushing forward with more weight on the shots and just making it a
25:21little bit uncomfortable here for Lappin.
25:22But it's still a tight fight.
25:25It's a good movement there from Lappin.
25:29He's got an opportunity there, Lappin, to let his hands go.
25:31You know, he's made Edmondson fall into the ropes.
25:33You've taken the step, lick the shots go.
25:35He just come out with a couple of jabs.
25:37It's not enough.
25:39But he's doing it by himself here.
25:40He's having to fight a little bit of an uncomfortable pace.
25:43And he hasn't had that really before.
25:45The second of three England-Ukraine fights tonight.
25:54And going back to, you know, them being identical records.
25:57That, as we pointed out, the Dan Aziz fight where you learn a lot about yourself there.
26:01So he did it a couple of fights ago.
26:02He had a really good fight against Kajawa last time out where he sort of won basically everything.
26:08So he's had that fight where Lappin hasn't really.
26:10Yep, that seasoning of Louis Edmondson holding the British and Commonwealth titles.
26:17Lappin has the IBF Intercontinental, WBO, and WB International bounce the line tonight.
26:25I know that there from Edmondson, because Lappin's not thrown with authority.
26:29So he had his hands high and was just parrying the shot.
26:32I mean, you don't hear that word anymore, do you?
26:35Parry, but he's just parrying the shot and walking down.
26:38And that's surprising as well.
26:39Somebody's a natural counter-puncher like Lappin, who lands a nice right hook there,
26:43would know that, would understand.
26:45You can't throw anything sloppy.
26:46If you're gonna throw something, commit to the shot.
26:50Inside the last minute of the seven, this fight now to be won.
26:55Edmondson with body shots, who's gonna last the pace better.
27:03There should be no reason why there shouldn't be plenty left in the tank for both.
27:06It's not been a massively high-tempo affair.
27:09A lot of thinking, and that does drain the tank.
27:12And a lot of wrestling, which also ties you out.
27:20Edmondson committed to that hook, they're not really hitting the target clean there.
27:23Edmondson trying to work on the inside, Lappin holding on, just has a look down at the opposing corner there.
27:33Daniel Lappin had a body shot from Edmondson, who again just tries the roughhouse tactics.
27:39Lappin back with him.
27:41Good, he needed that, Lappin. He needed that. He done well, Edmondson.
27:45He caught the eye of the judges, so he needed to come back, and he did.
27:47Need to see more of that from Lappin.
27:51Let's hear from the next fighters.
27:53I'm extremely excited, you know. Big opportunity, lots of fans.
28:02I do truly believe I'm coming into my prime now, and in the best physical shape I've ever been in.
28:06I'm just focused on performing.
28:08His style suits me.
28:10He's one of the rare, you know, come forward, aggressive, southpaws.
28:15It's almost like a crossroads fight for both of us. There's nothing personal against Lawrence.
28:19Everything's just focused on the day, the performance.
28:22He's too quick and precise. When I land him on the chin, on the top of the head,
28:27those wobbly legs are going to go. I'm in a Lomba stoppage.
28:30In devastating fashion.
28:35Good talkers, aren't they? Kevin Lorena from South Africa.
28:39Lawrence Zaccoli from here in Britain.
28:43That's it, heavyweight. That's next.
28:46And after that, it's Usyk de Bois too.
28:48Here comes Louis Edmondson, forcing it out here, deep into this ten-rounder.
28:54It's been as we thought it would be a chess match, tactical battle.
29:00Who are the judges favoring?
29:04It's just been a scrappy affair, hasn't it?
29:06Because I think Lappin's not really willing to commit to any sort of fluid combinations,
29:10and Edmondson having to jump in the short in the distance at times.
29:13Yeah, you've got to take him to places now, Barry, hasn't it?
29:18If you're new to Edmondson, take him to places he's not been before.
29:21Really, really make him feel uncomfortable.
29:25Yes, I would say so, yeah.
29:27And I like to see Edmondson when he sort of fainted,
29:29like the right hand of the body there,
29:31as soon as he fainted with the jack and tipped to that body.
29:34Refere, on the lot, right? On the lot.
29:36Just hurt himself there, Daniel Lappin, his right arm and hand.
29:46He's not happy here.
29:51Well, that's the last thing he needed.
29:52Yeah, I'm not sure a great deal happened there, if I'm honest.
29:56They're not great signs from Lappin, and I'll tell you now,
29:59Edmondson's going to feed off of it, and he is, this is great work.
30:02Here comes Lloyd Edmondson, the saint, trying to rip out the script here.
30:08He logs Daniel Lappin out, and Lappin is having a hard night here at the right.
30:16Arm is giving him real problems.
30:18He's trying to stretch it out.
30:19Something's missing there.
30:21Yeah, it is a genuine injury, or just a man who's under pressure here,
30:27feeling a bit sorry for himself.
30:29That's really good defense there from Marcus McDonald.
30:33A lot of complaints from Lappin.
30:38Distress signals from Daniel Lappin, who looks to his corner.
30:45Jakob Cherchi, Cuba, the professor in the corner,
30:50who's the man that keeps an eye on Onyxander Usyk's statistical progress in training.
30:57Right now from Edmondson, who's loving the fact that Lappin is having problems here,
31:03big problems.
31:04Edmondson got to throw in threes now all the time, and change it up, down, left, all the time.
31:08Let go.
31:08Just don't give Lappin a chance to really close that defense or fire back.
31:12Yeah, he's really feeding off of this, Edmondson.
31:15And with those complaints, you've got, there's two things that can happen.
31:19You're trying to tell the ref that he's doing stuff illegal,
31:21but then you're also letting your opponent know you're uncomfortable, you're not happy.
31:25He's very tentative with that southpaw chip now,
31:28there's been dropped out, and a body shot from Edmondson,
31:31and Daniel Lappin in deep water here, and this is a crisis in his career,
31:37and now he's gonna have to dig deep.
31:40Massive round, this is huge for Edmondson.
31:43Just showing that they've got the same identical record,
31:48just showing a little bit more experience that he has here, Edmondson.
31:51More experience, more risk-taking, and physically, he's looking stronger,
31:57Louis Edmondson.
31:58Now he can roll into a shot at Edmondson.
32:00Good body shot, can't hit from Lappin, lovely shot.
32:03I'm with you though, phases now, let the shots go.
32:06Good body work from Lappin, and this is excellent,
32:10as the Ukrainian fights to keep his undefeated record intact.
32:14But though Lappin's not doing that jab anymore,
32:16Edmondson can walk up to the wall underneath the outside right jab,
32:20and come back to that left hook.
32:23There play to Lappin here, pushing Edmondson back.
32:26I was thinking exactly the same thing, Garen.
32:30Nothing in the shots though, Adam, from Lappin.
32:32No, but he's buckled down and got on with it,
32:35and he's not happy, Daniel Lappin.
32:38How is his body holding up?
32:47Why not finish, Daniel?
32:48It's not, boom, boom, boom.
32:53Two rounds there, man. We're in these two fucking rounds, yeah?
32:55He's gonna climb, come on.
32:56He's strong now, they're gassing out.
32:58You ain't fucking gassing out.
33:00You've worked too hard for this.
33:02Well, excuse the blue language, but I'll tell you what,
33:05they're really, really up for it.
33:07Yeah, they are.
33:07In that red corner.
33:08Really good round, trying to see here.
33:10Yeah, well, to be fair, look, the arm is a bit twisted there.
33:13Of Lappin, I've never seen anyone stay on the ropes as long as that.
33:18Darren, we've seen some things in boxing, but I mean, that was WWE stuff.
33:24It was, shades of Royal Rumble,
33:25he didn't want to go over the top rope, did he?
33:27He didn't, and he did very well to hang on, but how much does it take out of him?
33:31He's out for the ninth round, Daniel Lappin.
33:35And these six minutes are crucial.
33:37We don't know how the three judges have got it.
33:39IBF Intercontinental, WBO and WBA International belts on the line.
33:45Most importantly, they're in front of Turkey, El Sheik, Frank Warren,
33:49and the boxing world here, these two.
33:51That's good work from Lappin.
33:53I'll tell you what, there was a couple of big, deep breaths in that corner from Edmondson.
33:57Is he feeling the pace?
33:58Lappin's come out, he's started this ninth round well.
34:03You gotta be careful here, Lappin, because he's been more than a few times for holding.
34:07I know Edmondson was one for the head as well, but he has been more than a few times for holding here.
34:12Don't lose a point in the fitness, lose the fight down.
34:14Great work from Daniel Lappin here, and he suddenly just traveled Edmondson with a combination,
34:22and Edmondson just shipping punches for the first time in the fight.
34:26And this is good from Lappin, what a response.
34:30He's tired, Edmondson, I'm telling that, he's really feeling this.
34:38How much does Lappin have, though?
34:40Can he sustain an attack?
34:43Twists and turns in this one.
34:45It's not always been pretty, it's been scrappy, but you can't take your eyes off it.
34:49I'll ask you in the second round who's going to win the fight.
34:52I'll ask you both in the ninth.
34:53Well, look, I think, well, you would say Edmondson, you know, was in the lead,
34:58but Lappin looking like he's got the second wind here, but because neither one
35:02is used to really pushing the pace, because their fingers, their people pointing the shots,
35:08so they're pretty much full boxing out the single they normally would fight,
35:12which ties you on quicker.
35:13I think it's all to play for, I really do, I know Edmondson ahead for sure, no doubt.
35:17But he's looking good here, Lappin.
35:20Good round here for Lappin, that's all the quality work, and Edmondson a little bit jaded.
35:27It's a second wing laying on for Daniel Lappin.
35:31All that hard work he's done in Gandua, in the training camp alongside Alexander Usyk,
35:38and his natural ability as well, left out to the body.
35:43Whatever happens, I like the way he's responded to being hurt with the right arm, Daniel Lappin.
35:49Some lovely shots here. Not all penetrating the defense here, Edmondson, but he's letting
35:54the hands go, and Edmondson just looked at the rest of it again.
35:57Yeah, he's not loading up the shots, but they're accurate, aren't they?
36:02Busy are, he needs to be. Can he sustain that attack? Does he have it in the tank?
36:08I think I've just seen Jake Paul here at ringside. I mean, is everybody coming tonight?
36:13Yeah, I did send them a text out a few people through my mates, so they might have turned up.
36:19I can see them, they're in the top row up there somewhere, I can see them, all two of them.
36:27Last 15 seconds of the night, Daniel Lappin having a really good round here.
36:33Just had a lovely shot right hand there, Lappin, as Edmondson came forward.
36:37It's been a very good session for Daniel Lappin.
36:41One of the biggest rounds of his career, I'd say. Lappin, he's done deep and he has produced
36:48and Wembley is filling up, and look who is here.
36:55The problem child. We saw Jake Paul put on a terrific advert for female boxing last week
37:03with Katie Taylor sparkling at Madison Square Garden. Ellie Scottney as well,
37:08who's been here this week trying to get a selfie of Alexander Usyk.
37:14Performance of the night, Ellie Scottney.
37:15She was brilliant, wasn't she?
37:17Performance of the night.
37:18But Jake Paul's here on a mission. Who's he going to call out here?
37:23It's got to be Anthony Joshua if he turns up, if he's begging for that fight recently.
37:28I wouldn't be surprised if Jake Paul calls him out.
37:36Jake might call Barry out, let's see.
37:40AJ, is he going to turn up every other heavyweight I've seen earlier?
37:45Joe Parker, Tyson Fury's coming.
37:47Ajit Caval, it's going to be a who's who in the front few rows tonight.
37:53Now, who's going to win this? A last gasp effort here from Daniel Lapp and Louis Edmonton
38:00has boxed really well at times. How have the judges got it?
38:09Yeah, nothing silly from Edmonton required here. He's got to stay switched on.
38:14Lappin, I feel, needs to go through the gears. It was a really good ninth round for Lappin.
38:18Can he build on it? Can he get that grandstand finish?
38:23I obviously thought Lappin was going to control.
38:26As soon as early round for that jab, I think, but he hasn't been able to.
38:30And you've got to give Edmonton the credit for that.
38:34I don't think he needs to load up at all here, Lappin. Just let the shots go.
38:38Frees and fours go again. Take that little step back, let Edmonton walk onto the shots,
38:42but just be busy. And the same for Edmonton as well.
38:45I think he's just got to throw in threes, hasn't he?
38:48Credit to Frank Warren Lee Eton. His head of boxing sat alongside him.
38:52And RTF for making this fight. Two undefeated men.
38:58Who's going to get the knot?
39:02Nice right hand, Edmonton's corner, I think, is starting to believe, Barry.
39:06Well, no, they've been saying this since half the round four,
39:08that you're boxing well and you're ahead.
39:10And they were confident that he was winning the fight
39:11from early on when it was hard to tell.
39:13So they all think their man's won clear.
39:15But they must have known he had a bad ninth round.
39:18And now it's just about junior fighting.
39:20Keep that energy, keep working, keep working.
39:22Just keep going to the finishing belt.
39:23Daniel Lapin at times has showed us his real class.
39:30Edmonton has rushed him.
39:32He's not let him set really tonight, Lapin.
39:35And these in-and-out bursts could prove decisive.
39:40Last minute, who can leave that impression on the three judges.
39:47Just slipping a little bit, Edmonton, he has been at times.
39:50Yeah, but like you say, those attacks that he did,
39:54the early parts of the fight, they really did and would have, I'm sure.
39:57The judges eyes, but that was a lovely left hand from Lapin.
40:02I think there's an argument to say Lapin has landed more eye-catching shots at times.
40:07And Edmonton's done more.
40:09It's going to be really interesting to see how the judges have it.
40:12Last 30, both of them digging deep.
40:17Yeah, the last two rounds, Lapin was done with a cleaner work.
40:25He's finished well, Daniel Lapin, after that awkward fall over the top rope.
40:30And it did look as if he was feeling sorry for himself, didn't it?
40:33And he's bounced back really well.
40:36I think that's a big tick for Daniel Lapin.
40:39But is he going to win this?
40:40The Edmonton team are going to celebrate.
40:43No doubt about that.
40:44In they come at the bell.
40:46Edmonton raises his right arm.
40:48And Jacob McMillan holds him aloft.
40:51They believe they've done enough.
40:53Daniel Lapin, a sort of celebration over in his corner.
40:57But there's no doubt that the Brits believe they have this.
41:03I think he's nicked it, Adam Edmonton.
41:06I do.
41:06Look, it was close.
41:09But I think that the work in the early and mid rounds from Edmonton were really, really good.
41:13It was a really good ending to the fight from Lapin.
41:16But look at that fan zone.
41:1852% Edmonton.
41:21I'll have to agree with that.
41:22Jesse Bam Rodriguez back.
41:33Looking to unify the super flyweight division against Rumela Cafu.
41:39That's tonight live from Texas over on the zone.
41:43And a matchroom show over there.
41:45A Frank Warren show here.
41:47And has Frank Warren's Louis Edmonton upset the Usyk team of Daniel Lapin and his brother
41:56Sergei and the whole Ukrainian tight-knit group.
42:02There's no celebration from Lapin.
42:04Maybe he knows.
42:06For me, I thought Edmonton did enough over the course of the 10 rounds.
42:10I think he took the challenge.
42:12He said he'd do it.
42:13And for me, he should be 12-0.
42:15I think he's done enough to win.
42:17But it was a scrappy affair.
42:18But let's be honest, stylistically, it was always going to be that sort of fight, to be fair.
42:22So it was just about getting the win here.
42:24Getting the win against another undefeated fighter.
42:26And for either one to move on, I think.
42:28But I am impressed, Darren, the way Daniel Lapin dug deep there at the end.
42:33Yep, they were two really good rounds.
42:35As you said, Adam, he ticked a big box there.
42:38Looked distressed.
42:39Looked sorry for himself.
42:40But he rallied back.
42:42And he could be proud of himself for that.
42:46Someone's O's got to go unless it's a draw.
42:51Daniel Lapin and Louis Edmondson.
42:56And look how happy he looks.
42:58And he'll be down helping out Ryan Gardner next week in Bournemouth.
43:02The South Coast rejuvenated in boxing.
43:06And has he got his biggest win?
43:09Thomas Driver has the cards.
43:17Ladies and gentlemen, after 10 rounds of boxing, we go to the judges' scorecards.
43:23Judge Bob Williams scores it 95 to 95, even a draw.
43:33And both judges, Patrick Morley and Leszek Jankowiak are in agreement.
43:39They both scored the same 96 to 94, both for your winner by majority decision.
43:49And still IBF Intercontinental, WBA Continental, and now the WBO International Light Heavyweight Champion,
44:01Daniel Lapin, Daniel Lapin.
44:06By two rounds on two cards and a draw on the other.
44:11It was a tight affair.
44:14The judge is going for Daniel Lapin.
44:16It's maybe cleaner.
