In a daring theft in Lucknow’s Manaknagar, a man and woman stole a ₹75,000 diamond ring from the trunk of a scooty within minutes, after trailing the buyer from a jewellery shop.
On July 16, around 8:30 PM, Shanu, a resident of LDA Colony, bought the ring for his wife from Kalyan Jewellers near Bargawan Phoenix Mall. He placed the ring, bill, and documents in his Ola electric scooty’s trunk and stopped at a nearby store in Alambagh.
Within 2–3 minutes, CCTV footage showed the duo, who had followed him from the jeweller’s shop, stealing the ring from the scooty and fleeing.
Police have registered a case and are scanning CCTV footage to trace the accused.
