00:30Russia launched hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles at Ukraine overnight, killing at least one person and injuring several others.
00:40The Black Sea port city of Odessa was struck by 20 drones and a missile, sparking a fire in an apartment block.
00:48Five people were rescued from the building, including one woman who later on died.
00:52A series of explosions were also heard in Pavlorod in the Dnipro region, damaging critical infrastructure and a residential building.
01:02According to local authorities, it was the largest attack on the city since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion.
01:10Moscow has been recently intensifying its long-range attacks on Ukraine,
01:14often firing more drones in a single night than it did during entire months in 2024.
01:19Meanwhile, Russia's defense ministry said it shot down 71 Ukrainian drones overnight,
01:2613 of which were reportedly shot down as they approached Moscow.
01:33On Saturday, thousands of people took part in anti-immigration marches organized by the far-right Confederation Party.
01:40The marches took place in more than 80 cities across Poland.
01:44Demonstrators demanded the closure of the borders with Lithuania, Ukraine, Belarus and Slovakia,
01:50citing concerns over their security.
01:52The great Poles were Poles, such as our great king, Jan III Sobieski,
02:01who, the Muslims who want to get to Europe, get to Europe,
02:06gave something different than asylum, and we all know what to do.
02:09Counter-protests against the Confederation marches were also held in several cities on the same day.
02:15Many were seen holding banners such as
02:17Accept the Refugees, Delete the Fascists, and We Defend the Right to Asylum.
02:22A day prior to the protests, in a meeting of interior ministers hosted by Germany,
02:35Poland, along with five other EU countries,
02:38agreed a set of targets for tightening asylum rules.
02:41U.S. Ambassador to Turkey and Special Envoy for Syria announced early on Saturday that Syria and
02:49Israel had agreed to a ceasefire. It comes after Israeli forces carried out several attacks against
02:55Syria, including in the capital Damascus, in what it called military interventions to protect the
03:00Druze minority. Clashes between armed Druze groups and Bedouin clans erupted on Sunday in the southern
03:06province of Sweda. Government forces nominally intervened to restore peace, but ended up taking
03:11the Bedouin side against the Druze. Israel responded by launching dozens of airstrikes on convoys of
03:16government fighters and even targeted the Syrian Defense Ministry headquarters in central Damascus.
03:21The fighting came to a brief halt following a U.S.-brokered truce between Syria's government and
03:27Druze groups on Wednesday. Druze militias were responsible for overseeing internal security as
03:32government forces pulled out, but instead clashes with Bedouins flared again. Syrian interim president
03:38Ahmad al-Sharah said special forces will be deployed to Sweda to break up clashes and resolve the conflict
03:43on the ground. The U.N. says that clashes have killed hundreds, displaced tens of thousands, and
03:48severely disrupted essential services like water and electricity.
03:55At least 34 people died after a tourist boat capsized during a sudden thunderstorm in Vietnam's
04:01Hà Long Bè, local state media reported. Eight people are believed to be still missing.
04:08The vessel was carrying 48 passengers and five crew members, all Vietnamese nationals. A sudden
04:15storm with strong winds caused the vessel to turn upside down. A rescue team managed to save 11 people
04:21and recover 27 bodies. Eight of them were children. The tragedy comes as a new tropical storm is headed
04:29towards the north of the country. It is expected to make landfall early next week.
