00:00Peter already knows when it comes to symbiotes, one size fits all.
00:04Here's your look at the Hasbro Spider-Man Venom vs. Symbiotes Suit Spider-Man.
00:19Kids can imagine unleashing Venomized web-slinging adventures and battles
00:23with their favorite Spider-Man heroes and villains.
00:26Hope you don't mind if Peter slips into something a little more sinister.
00:30Let's take the tape measure and see how tall the Venom vs. Symbiotes Suit Spider-Man stands.
00:34Essentially using somewhat of the same body as the classic Spider-Man that we've already had a look at.
00:39We're going to kind of digest and discuss that a little bit more in a second.
00:42Because now he's going to stand about the same.
00:44First of all, he's about three and three quarters of an inch in height,
00:47translating to a figure that's about ten centimeters tall.
00:51Size being the same, it's not exactly the same body.
00:54One thing, though, when you look at the classic-looking suit of Spidey,
00:57you'll know, too, that they had to sculpt in the webbing.
01:00Spider-Man in his Symbiotes Suit has clearly more of a smoother coat.
01:03So he's not going to have any of that webbing whatsoever.
01:06I think it's actually rather interesting, too, that if you look at the bodies,
01:09even though the bodies aren't identical at all,
01:11they took somewhat similar cues when it came to his hands.
01:14Although in this case, with the Symbiotes Suit, they flipped around the matter.
01:17And so instead of actually having the web-slinging hand on this side,
01:20so then again it would carry over to this side of the figure's body,
01:23he actually has the mirror flip.
01:24A gripping hand on this side and a web-slinger on the other.
01:27Here's also a character that knows a little bit about Symbiotes.
01:30Here's what Eddie Brock looks like once he's transformed to Venom.
01:33Not only do the two Spider-Men not share the same bodies,
01:35but they don't share the same accessory either.
01:37When I first looked at these in the packaging,
01:39I thought, though, the web-slinger piece that he came included with
01:42was the same one as the snot one we got with the classic Spider-Man.
01:45Seriously, Hasbro, could this not have been blue instead of this gross-looking green?
01:50Looking at, though, and thinking the two were exactly the same,
01:53I was surprised to see, in fact, that they weren't.
01:55The one for the Symbiotes Suit Spider-Man, you can see, is a little bit smaller on the end,
01:59and it does have a few little extra strands on the tops.
02:02If you're looking at the two, they're very similar in length,
02:05although this one's a little bit more elaborate.
02:07They clip on clearly, though, the exact same way.
02:09So you've got these little C-clamps here that are going to fit onto the wrists of Spider-Man.
02:14Now, it doesn't really matter which way you want to do it.
02:16If you want to break the rules altogether,
02:17you don't have to have it on the web-slinging hand.
02:19You want to have it on the gripping hand?
02:21Put it on the gripping hand.
02:22If somebody tells you otherwise, you tell them that I told them
02:25that there's nothing really wrong with putting it on the wrong side of the figure's body.
02:29If you want to, though, follow the format, though,
02:31clearly if Spider-Man's got his web hand like this,
02:33you want to really, like, clip the hand on this side.
02:36But if you want to break the rules, you break the rules.
02:39Just don't, I guess maybe don't tell him that I was the one that told you.
02:42But that basically just clips onto his wrist like that.
02:44If you really want to have it on the other side, it doesn't really, again, matter.
02:48The thing about it, though, is the moment you put it onto either one of his arms,
02:51it's going to make Spider-Man a lot more front-heavy.
02:54So you may want to maybe bring the legs a little bit wider out, for example.
02:58Kind of compensate for the fact the figure now has this piece on sticking on the ends of his arm.
03:03Or, again, you can also attach these figures onto a display stand.
03:06None of the figures that we've looked at so far have had stands,
03:10but they at least have the universally sized peg hole.
03:12So you can just clip them onto a figure stand that comes from another figure company.
03:16Have we spent enough time looking at this?
03:18Okay, let's go ahead and just take that off right now.
03:20Again, you don't have to have it on this side.
03:23All right, getting a closer look at Spider-Man.
03:25Now, I did say earlier it's not the same Spider-Man,
03:28just in the sense that the classic one had a lot more of the webbing sculpted into the plastic.
03:33Spider-Man, when he gets into his black suit, doesn't have any visible webbing,
03:36unless you really follow the Raimi Spider-Man films.
03:39Then he would have had, basically, just like this suit, all in black.
03:41I hated the symbiote suit in the movie.
03:43But I do like the way he looks in black, though.
03:46While not having the exact same body.
03:48I would imagine, though, they probably would have sculpted the symbiote suit first,
03:52then taken already the building block for the body,
03:55and then added the additional webbing and retooled it for this figure.
03:58That's my hunch, at least.
03:59Because if you're looking at the frame, they're pretty much the same.
04:02Oh, you realize I rhymed.
04:03The legs are also very similar, also, as well.
04:05Well, the only thing different, too, is this Spider-Man does have sculpted-in boots.
04:09This one doesn't have the boots at all.
04:11This one also would have had the webbing sculpted and the little symbol there on the front.
04:15This one has, again, the larger symbiote symbol.
04:19Which is one thing I will say, though, for a figure line this small,
04:22I think the paint has done really well, though.
04:24I mean, if you look up, if you move Spider-Man's arms out of the way,
04:27I would imagine breathing in this suit would be next to impossible.
04:30You imagine the kind of sweat and stank this thing's capturing inside of it.
04:34But if you look at this one, and actually, we bring back in Venom,
04:37lifting the arms on both,
04:38this would always be the point that would be the messiest.
04:41I mean, it always tends to look clean on the front.
04:43But when you get around to the armpit area, this is where disaster starts.
04:47But yet, though, like, the lines are pretty well painted.
04:50I would think, though, that that's probably a machine that's done that,
04:53not somebody who's done that by hand.
04:54But the webbing on both, the symbiote on the front and the back,
04:57and on the sides, look really good on both.
05:00Spider-Man's also, one thing that's interesting, too,
05:03is that the way they've sculpted his eyes,
05:05they look almost like they're just printed on.
05:08And yet, what they've done, though, they've actually made the eyes sculpted.
05:12So if you run your finger along this area,
05:14you can clearly feel that the eye is lifted from the rest of the mask.
05:17That's sculpted in there.
05:19Taking that same idea, though, they also did the same for the symbiote suit.
05:23I mean, it's kind of harder to see it, though,
05:25but he does actually have an outline around the white eye.
05:28Some nice attention to detail.
05:30Well, short of that, though, I mean, yeah, it's pretty much the same body,
05:33and it has the same levels of possibility.
05:35And, of course, for obvious reasons, it's the same guy underneath the suit.
05:38The bodies are going to be exactly the same in size.
05:42For the figure's articulation, though,
05:44symbiote suit Spider-Man's going to be the same.
05:46Head's going to be down on a ball joint,
05:46so it allows the head to rotate all the way around first.
05:49You can also move the head up and down only by just a little bit.
05:51More down, less up.
05:53You can also move it back and forth just a little bit there.
05:57The arms, surprised to see, again, rotate all the way around.
06:00These figures for being, I think they were around $12 or so in stores,
06:03surprised that they would be able to do this.
06:06I think more figures for this size should be able to do this.
06:09I think a lot of companies are coming around to realizing
06:11that adult collectors love these smaller scales, too.
06:14Don't just phone it in when it comes to figure's possibility.
06:17Standard five points of articulation just doesn't cut it.
06:20It doesn't cut it for kids.
06:21It doesn't cut it for collectors.
06:23We want more than just this.
06:25So it seems like companies are listening.
06:27Companies now are starting to incorporate the same possibility points
06:30for the most part as McFarlane toys or even like the Marvel Legends figures.
06:34The only thing that obviously they won't have for this size,
06:36there's no waist articulation, there's no upper torso crunch either.
06:40But for the fact that he has a ball joint here,
06:43a pin hinge joint here for the shoulders,
06:45so you can get a nice T-pose going,
06:47single hinge for the elbow, that's not bad, that's not bad.
06:50Swivel all the way around for the forearm.
06:52Again, nothing here in the waist.
06:53But again, like you've got ball joints on the legs.
06:55I mean, that's a good far splits for a figure this size.
06:58You bring the legs forward, yeah.
06:59You can also bring them back.
07:01A little bit of a swivel there at the top of the thigh.
07:03Single hinge for the knee.
07:04Lower leg rotation.
07:05No ankle articulation.
07:07But again, like for a figure this size and this price point,
07:10I think one thing you can get away with not doing
07:11is wrist articulation and ankle articulation.
07:15I don't think it necessarily needs either.
07:17All in all though, again, I know it's really just essentially
07:19the same figure for the most part.
07:21I mean, obviously they just had a little bit more sculpting went into it.
07:24But for a similar size Spidey,
07:27for the fact it has this much posability,
07:29I was always big into this symbiote suit Spider-Man.
07:32It's one of my favorite suits for the character.
07:33So obviously if they were to do something like this figure in a black,
07:37clearly would have to have found it.
07:39Luckily though, again, I was able to find this at my local Walmart.
07:42All the figures, by the way, are going to be selling for the same price.
07:45Around that $12 to $14 price.
07:47I went in initially just really looking for Venom Sores Rex,
07:50not expecting at all to be able to find anything else
07:52when it comes to their supply.
07:54Sure enough though, when I went back to buy Venom Sores,
07:57I looked up and they had one single faced peg.
08:00And I thought, what are the chances?
08:02What are the chances?
08:03They had a Spider-Man.
08:04They had another classic Spider-Man.
08:06I'm making kind of the gestures of what this was happening in the stores.
08:09And then at the very back, it had to be at the very back.
08:12At the very back was the Venom at the other Walmart.
08:14At the very back was the symbiote suit Spider-Man.
08:16And I grabbed him right away.
08:19In the same way that the symbiote borrows Peter Parker's body,
08:22the symbiote suit Spider-Man figure borrows the same body for the most part as Spider-Man.
08:26The only thing, obviously, again, when I mentioned in this review,
08:29I would think though that they probably would have taken the black suit Spidey body first,
08:33it being like the basic body,
08:35and then added the extensive sculpting and tooling that was required to get the classic suit.
08:40Because the classic suit obviously has the webbing.
08:42The symbiote suit doesn't.
08:43I do wish though that they could have added some sculpting to where the symbiote symbol actually is.
08:49Not just always really relying on printing it.
08:51But the fact of costing, the cost would be involved to printing the front and the back of the torso
08:56has to be factored in.
08:57And the fact that if that has to be something that has to be sacrificed
09:00in order to get a figure that's this poseable for this small at this same price,
09:05I think, again, I would rather have a more poseable symbiote suit Spider-Man
09:08than a figure that would have just five points of articulation with a better sculpted symbol.
09:14What do you guys think of the Venom versus symbiote suit Spider-Man?
09:17Let me know down below in the comments section.
09:19I don't know if this one's a little harder to find.
09:21I mean, it has been a case where I had to kind of check around at different Walmarts.
09:24The other Walmart didn't have it.
09:26Sure enough though, the one that I just figured would have next to nothing
09:29ended up having not only Venom source racks that we've already had a look at,
09:32it also had, with a little bit of looking, the symbiote suit Spider-Man at the back.
09:37What do you guys though think of the figure?
09:38Let me know down below in the comments section.
09:40And if you guys have been at all collecting the Venom versus figures.
09:44By the way though, speaking of which,
09:45we will be looking at some deluxe versions of these figures too.
09:47So if that's the kind of thing you guys like checking out on this channel,
09:50I hope you're going to be checking out not only those videos,
09:52but the other videos I'm going to be posting coming up soon as well.
09:55As always guys, thanks for watching.
09:57See you guys next time.
