In House floor remarks on Friday, Rep. Seth Magaziner (D-RI) spoke about food aid for starving children.
Transcript
00:00Mr. Speaker, I rise today for the 30th time to call on the Trump administration to restore
00:15life-saving food aid for starving children. When children are starving, their organs shut down.
00:22At a certain point, they're not able to eat traditional food anymore. Ready-to-use therapeutic
00:27food is the only chance they have to survive and to get back to health. Right now, in Rhode
00:35Island, there are 87,000 boxes of ready-to-use therapeutic food sitting in a warehouse, already
00:44bought and paid for, but sitting in a warehouse because the Trump administration has frozen
00:51this aid. It is time for the administration to honor the will of Congress, to honor its
00:57own commitment, and to do the right thing and get this food to the kids around the world
01:05who need it. I will keep speaking out every day until they do. And I yield back.
01:10The gentleman yields back. For what purpose does the gentleman from Texas seek recognition?
01:15the gentleman's admission to address that.
01:16The gentleman in California says,
01:20I am the one who is challenging, and he will provide the ability to address that...
01:23...and he brings up every one-third sitting in the house. We want to do the right thing...
01:27So, I believe everything is too much. And I am the one who wants to address that.
01:28Let me now tell you around the other thing to address that.
01:29To address that.
01:30The gentleman in California says,
01:34I am the one who wants to address that.
01:36I am the one who has a large group of staff and the other, who has the right thing in the
01:38proportion, and to address that.
01:39It is because there is a good thing, because there may be a lot of trust.
