00:00Yesterday's announcement on the revised SFS signalled another important event for the farming industry.

00:13All farmers across Wales have been waiting for its announcement with trepidation.

00:19I say trepidation as the last iteration of the FSS was a disaster, as we all know,

00:25leading to thousands of farmers protesting on the steps of the Senate.

00:30I'm pleased that the Deputy First Minister did revisit the scheme

00:34and reopened the opportunity for stakeholders to input with a view to co-create something better.

00:42I do thank the people who have been engaged in trying to make the best out of this.

00:48I doubt very much if this final SFS is what everybody wanted.

00:55But probably was more of a compromise, recognising time pressures and probably other pressures brought to bear.

01:03I wonder how the general farmer will see this.

01:06I doubt they will see it as the panacea for all things,

01:10as the Deputy First Minister would have us believe.

01:13This revised scheme may be simpler than the last, but it's still laden with bureaucracy.
