For the first time, BAE Systems has successfully launched a precision-guided munition from a multirotor drone, striking both aerial and ground targets during trials conducted at the US Army’s Dugway Proving Ground in Utah.

The milestone marks the first air-to-air engagement using the APKWS (Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System) laser-guidance kit launched from an Unmanned Aerial System (UAS). The platform used was the TRV-150, a modified version of the Malloy T-150 drone, adapted by SURVICE Engineering to meet the logistical requirements of the United States Marine Corps.
