Australian Sheep & Wool Show supreme champion Angora owner Nick Gorrie, Dulark stud, Hall, NSW, said the market was good for mohair wool. Video by Andrew Miller.
00:00Yeah, the market is good. We've been selling all our Mogeg greasy over to South Africa and they've got two plants that are processing it all.
00:11And, you know, the prices have been really good. They've been over, you know, $25 a kilo greasy and for the really good stuff, an average of $45 a kilo greasy.
00:22So it is worth the effort.
00:24Right. So compared to sheep, worthwhile investment, angora goats are a worthwhile investment?
00:31Yeah, there's something to be considered. If they've got, you know, the facilities are similar to wool in terms of a shearing shed, yards, paddocks with some shelter, you know, you've just got to manage making sure that your input costs don't go too high.
00:46And, yeah, but they are giving us a good return.
