00:06At around 4.30 p.m. Eastern Time, a powerful 7.5-magnitude quake struck off the coast of Alaska.
00:13It hit near the Shimagan Islands, southeast of Sandpoint, shaking the Pacific Ocean floor and setting off tsunami sirens in nearby towns.
00:21Now, communities along the southwestern Alaska coast, from Kennedy Entrance near Homer to Unamak Pass near Unalaska, are under tsunami warning.
