The U.S. states of Hawaii, Alaska and California are on a high-alert for a Tsunami, and so is the entire West Coast of the U.S. Tsunami sirens are sounding in Hawaii, where emergency shelters are now open. Waves are forecast to reach Alaska’s Kodiak Island by 12:20 AM ET and California’s coast by early morning. Authorities urge residents to avoid beaches and prepare for multiple surges over several hours. This follows the devastating 8.7 magnitude quake near Russia’s Kamchatka Peninsula continues to send shockwaves across the Pacific. Tsunami alerts are in effect from Japan to the U.S.
