On Wednesday, Rep. James Comer (R-KY) spoke to reporters about the Epstein files.
Transcript
00:00About the Epstein files, anything you can request through your committee process?
00:05Obviously, we're all curious about it.
00:08So, you know, I think there's a lot of discussion taking place as to what can be done,
00:15and hopefully something will be decided very soon.
00:18Are these active discussions with the Speaker, with the White House?
00:22I haven't discussed anything with the White House.
00:24I've had a lot of discussions with members of my committee.
00:27The majority of the members of my committee have a lot of questions.
00:31They're confused over some past statements that Attorney General Bondi said versus, you know, what's being said now.
00:39So I think that there are a lot of discussions being taken place as to what legal options there are.
00:47So we'll just see what happens.
00:50What are some of those options?
00:53Well, I mean, you know, there's always an option to request information.
00:56There's an option to talk to people, do voluntary interviews, depositions, things like that.
01:03But, you know, it's hard to request information when the Department of Justice says there is no information.
01:08So that's one of the hurdles here.
01:11But there are a lot of ongoing discussions.
01:14I've talked to a lot of people on my committee, obviously, and a lot of people on the Judiciary Committee and other committees.
01:20So I think that there will probably be some decision here very shortly as to maybe next step type options.
