Speaker Johnson is asked about the Jeffrey Epstein files.
Transcript
00:00I have been misquoted and misrepresented on all of that.
00:14Go watch the interview I did with Benny Johnson.
00:16I'm very clear.
00:17I mean, we're for transparency.
00:19I'm saying the same thing.
00:20Outside of stanchions.
00:21Outside of stanchions.
00:23I mean, you need to have all of the credible information released for
00:28the American people to make their decision.
00:30We trust the American people.
00:31And I know the president does as well.
00:33That's important principle to abide by here.
00:36What they have to do, though, what the president has to do is protect the innocent.
00:40I mean, there are, you know, whistleblowers and minors and names involved in things
00:45related to Epstein, obviously.
00:46You can't, you've got to be careful not to not to release that.
00:50Mr. President, can the president fire Jerome Powell?
00:56I'm really not sure.
01:02I have been, I have been not happy with the leadership there personally.
01:07But I'm honestly not sure whether, whether that could have been really difficult.
01:12The city, in your opinion, is he fired Powell?
01:14Look, I do, I believe the leadership will be helpful at the Fed.
01:19And I believe interest rates need to be adjusted.
01:21And, you know, I agree with the president's assessment.
