South Korea hit by heavy rain, flooded roads and rivers

Parts of South Korea were inundated by heavy floods on Thursday following intense rainfall.

Roads, trees and vehicles were seen submerged in some parts of the South Chungcheong region.

At least two people died and more than 1,000 have been evacuated in South Korea after the country was lashed by torrential rain on Thursday, the safety ministry said.

Some 403 schools were closed and 166 reported property damage from the heavy rain, the Ministry of Education said.
