Second day of heavy flooding in Czech Republic, with more rain on the way
Heavy rains caused severe flooding across the northern Czech Republic on Sunday, September 15, with rivers overflowing and some areas facing the most destructive floods in decades.
In Lipova Lazne, local resident Pavel Bily said it was the worst he'd seen since 1997.
The fire service reported evacuating 1,900 people by Sunday morning, with many roads impassable. A quarter of a million homes were without power due to high winds and rain.
