00:00Yeah, in terms of incomings for Everton, as you mentioned, there's still a lot of gaps in the squad that they need to improve on.
00:08And David Moyes has been certain from the back end of last season or even from when he sort of returned that it's so important that they do improve some positions quality-wise as well.
00:18And then depth as well can be a massive issue in the Premier League with the injuries that creep in.
00:23So in terms of incomings, what are the sort of priorities that Everton really need to tie down at this moment?
00:28Well, they've brought in Tierno Barry from Villarreal as a striker, which solves one issue, Donald Calvert-Lewin leaving the club.
00:36I don't think anyone was massively surprised that Calvert-Lewin left at the end of his contract and Everton needs another striker.
00:45Tierno Barry might be one who needs to be developed a little bit. He's never played in the Premier League.
00:50He only played at Villarreal for one season, scored 11 goals as they finished fourth or fifth in La Liga and qualified for the Champions League.
01:00So with Yousef Chimiti, maybe towards the end of the window, do you look at that and think we might log Chimiti out?
01:07Can we get another striker in a loan?
01:09But priorities for me now is it's on the right wing because they haven't got an out-and-out right winger.
01:15They've got two good options, Zilliman and Dye and Dwight McNeil on the left.
01:19But they need someone on the right, someone ideally with pace who can really get Everton up the pitch.
01:25Two options probably. They need two right wingers there, but they definitely need one in.
01:31Sentiment Fields looking a little bit light as well.
01:35Garnagay and James Garner are probably the only senior options at the minute.
01:41I know Tira Reboodham's there, but he only made five Premier League starts last season, had injury problems.
01:48Charlie Alcaraz is more of an attack on midfielders stroke and can play-wise.
01:53Harrison Armstrong enjoys a really good loan spell at Derby County in the Championship during the second half of last season.
02:01But is he ready for the Premier League? I think maybe what he does in pre-season might dictate that.
02:06So Everton needs to go and bolster the centre midfield options.
02:11Players like Douglas Luiz have been linked.
02:14Yeah, David Moyes will want a little bit of quality in there.
02:19The fact that Everton went and tried Kenny Tettie, tried to sign Kenny Tettie,
02:24shows that David Moyes maybe wants a new right-back as well.
02:28You've got Nathan Patterson there, who did well in the open pre-season game against Akriton.
02:33Jake O'Brien obviously can play there as well, but Moyes might want one there.
02:37I think maybe if you get some of those in, then maybe you look on the left-back as well,
02:43with Vitaly Mikhelenko being the only recognised senior option.
02:47I think that's an area of the squad that David Moyes might like to add to.
02:51Maybe someone a little bit more attacking than Mikhelenko potentially,
02:55someone who you can dovetail with and maybe play Mikhelenko.
02:58When you go on a way to the likes of Liverpool or Arsenal
03:01and you play someone a little bit more attacking, certainly in home games.
03:05So there's still a lot to do for Everton.
03:07I still think they need two right midfielders, probably at least two centre midfielders,
03:12a right-back, a left-back, maybe another third-choice goalie.
03:18So Harry Tarder can potentially go out on loan again.
03:21So there's still a lot to do.
03:23So I don't think Everton fans are panicking yet,
03:28but it would be of late numbers in, of course they would,
03:34but I think Moyes will want the right players in
03:36rather than just getting bozzies through the zone.
03:39You want the right players in who can improve Everton
03:42and maybe it'll just mean that Everton have a little bit of a slower start to the season,
03:45but they'll pick up once the games start coming
03:49and they get minutes under the belt.
03:51But yeah, it's proven difficult and it's understandable why,
03:55because they need a lot of players,
03:59but they need quality players as well who will make an impact.
