House Republican leaders are set to advance the GENIUS Act after Trump said he persuaded conservatives to support it, according to Bloomberg. Earlier in the day, a group of GOP hardliners joined Democrats to block a procedural rule, derailing what Trump had dubbed “Crypto Week.” By evening, Trump posted on Truth Social that he had met with 11 of the 12 necessary lawmakers and secured their commitment to vote for the bill Wednesday morning. House Speaker Mike Johnson confirmed the plan and thanked Trump for stepping in. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene said she wants the stablecoin bill amended to ban the Federal Reserve from issuing a digital currency. Other conservatives echoed the demand online, which would require the Senate to reconsider the bill. Senator Thom Tillis warned that any unapproved changes could doom the legislation.
