00:00Yeah, we are outside St. James' Park where a lot has happened in the last 24 hours regarding Newcastle United.
00:07The striker search for Hugo Eke-Tike, Alexander Izak and Sean Longstaff.
00:13So yeah, it's been a frantic 24 hours and I suspect it doesn't end there.
00:17So yeah, let's try and go over that. It's really digested.
00:21The week started with Newcastle United's interest in Hugo Eke-Tike.
00:25Again, publicly known, Newcastle tried to sign Hugo Eke-Tike in 2022.
00:29He twice rejected a move here.
00:32Eventually went to Paris Saint-Germain.
00:35Didn't work out from there.
00:36He went to Frankfurt and has reignited his career in Germany.
00:4122 goals, 15 assists last season.
00:44Newcastle in the market for a striker after Callum Wilson's exit Hugo Eke-Tike after missing out on Sean Pedro as a player Newcastle currently focusing on now.
00:54So Newcastle have held meetings regarding Hugo Eke-Tike with his parent club.
00:58Frankfurt bid rejected yesterday, believed to be around 70 million euros.
01:05So still work to do there.
01:06But then things get a little bit complicated because Liverpool, Alexander Izak.
01:11Liverpool have approached Newcastle United regarding Alexander Izak.
01:15Is it a surprise?
01:17Probably not.
01:18I think most clubs in world football want to sign Alexander Izak.
01:21I think Liverpool's interest, admiration for Izak is quite evident.
01:26But it sounded like Liverpool only gave Newcastle United out of the meeting.
01:30Give us Alexander Izak or we'll go and sign URT.
01:33Now, how that plays out, we'll have to wait and see.
01:36But in regards to Alexander Izak, Newcastle United are adamant that he is not for sale.
01:42£120 million was reportedly the fee quoted in The Athletic that Liverpool will be willing to pay for Alexander Izak.
01:49He's worth so much more than that.
01:52That is a British record fee, of course.
01:54But given the goals that he scored for this football club in his three years here,
02:00the goals last season, 27, he is invaluable at Newcastle.
02:03He is one of the best strikers on the planet.
02:05And for an ambitious football club who's returned to Champions League football next season at Lake,
02:10it makes little sense to lose Alexander Izak.
02:12But, admittedly, the player plays a big part in this.
02:16If Alexander Izak has to leave, which I don't think will happen, but I'm not ruling that out.
02:20I do think Liverpool are a big pull.
02:22Oddly, the biggest club in England.
02:24Premier League champions always do well in the Champions League stage as well.
02:28So, there's a big pull there regarding Liverpool.
02:31So, if the players came, if he has to leave,
02:33and I think Newcastle United may feel like they have to end their negotiations with Liverpool.
02:37But at this stage now, I don't believe Alexander Izak will be going anywhere.
02:41There may be noises regarding Liverpool and their interests and potential bids.
02:45But Newcastle, importantly, pulled the key in all of this.
02:49It's their player.
02:50He's on a contract for another three years.
02:53I think maybe next summer there's a different conversation to be had
02:56if Alexander Izak doesn't sign a new contract.
02:59Because I think that's what is key now,
03:00is if Alexander Izak does stay at Newcastle this summer.
03:03Which, again, I think he will.
03:05I think it's key that Newcastle should come in with the player
03:07and try and negotiate a new deal.
03:09So, if he doesn't sign a new deal,
03:11you're looking at next summer two years left on his contract.
03:14Do you then look to sell him?
03:15But at this stage now, Newcastle United hold the key in Liverpool.
03:18They make all the noise as the one.
03:20But ultimately, Newcastle hold the power.
03:22And if Alexander Izak wants to stay,
03:24then there's no suggestions that he's asked to leave.
03:26And I think that is a deal where Newcastle United will hold on to Alexander Izak.
03:31So, the lane move for Hugo Eketike.
03:34A bit of conflicting reports on this one.
03:36There's some sources don't think that Hugo Eketike is of interest to Liverpool.
03:41The summer obviously do.
03:43So, yeah, it's a lot of moving parts on this one.
03:45Very difficult.
03:47But Newcastle United, again, are still in talks with Frankfurt regarding you Eketike.
03:51Will Liverpool come in and rival them?
03:53Time will tell.
03:54But again, in terms of Alexander Izak's situation,
03:57Newcastle United hold the key.
03:58And as I say, hopefully, the player is happy here.
04:01He's got Champions League football to look forward to next season.
04:03Newcastle United just won a trophy.
04:05He's a central key.
04:06He's a key figure in Newcastle United's plans.
04:08And I hope he recognises that and he stays at the football club.
04:12Now, on to Sean Longstaff.
04:15A player that's been facing an uncertain future for a little while now.
04:18And last Premier League start in December, Brentford away.
04:23I think he's only made two appearances in that time.
04:25That was in the FA Cup against...
04:26Two starts, sorry.
04:28In the FA Cup and that was against the early opposition.
04:30So, a player that's been facing an uncertain future for a while.
04:33Noises from Eddie out at the end of last season suggested that the player
04:36only held the key to his own future.
04:39If he wanted to go, Newcastle would support that.
04:42And, yeah, Leeds United have came in with a bid.
04:44I think it's fourth time lucky for Leeds United with a bid that we believe.
04:49To be £12 million plus £3 million an achievable add-ons.
04:53A good deal for Newcastle United.
04:55The right time for the player to leave.
04:57I think he's been a fantastic servant for the football club.
05:01I think he's been harshly trekked at times.
05:04Or certainly comments on social media.
05:06I don't think being warranted.
05:08I think he's a player that's always gave his own.
05:10He's lived a dream here.
05:11200 appearances.
05:12Won the Carabao Cup with Newcastle.
05:14But he's achieved, he's completed it in his eyes.
05:17And I suspect many supporters' eyes as well.
05:19And going to Leeds United, a fresh start for him.
05:23Good money for Newcastle.
05:24It's pure profit in terms of PSR.
05:26So that money will go straight back into the transfer water chest or budget.
05:31And it'll be interesting how Newcastle United use that money.
05:34But yeah, Sean Longstaff, due for a medical in Leeds, currently be in Austria with Newcastle United.
05:39But will travel back to England to undergo a medical in Leeds and sign a contract there.
05:44So yeah, again, as I mentioned, it's been a frantic 24 hours.
05:48I do think there's more to come.
05:51But that is a breakdown of what has happened.
