00:00One of Sheffield's most loved garden centres is set to close at the end of July.
00:06The owners of Loxley Nurseries on Long Lane, Loxley, are currently looking to close their doors for the last time at the end of the month and are currently selling off their stock.
00:16The centre has been there for over 25 years and its customers have spoken of their sadness at its imminent loss.
00:23Many are hoping a buyer can be found to take it over as a garden centre when the owners retire.
00:28Some customers told us why they would be so sad to see it go.
00:34Absolutely heartbroken, as are all my friends. We've all always come here for our plants, for as long as it's existed here, which is virtually all my life.
00:44The perfect quality and we're so upset.
00:47I'm very surprised and shocked and upset really, because we've come here for about five or six years, usually roundabout payday and spend quite a bit of money.
00:56Yeah, and it's always really popular. I didn't realise that they were retiring. I'm glad to hear that's the reason why not, that they're going out of business because they're not getting any business, which would be awful.
01:09Would you like to see somebody buy it?
01:11Definitely. Yeah, definitely. It'll be sadly missed, I'm sure, by a lot of people.
01:16Since Covid, I've seen several closed garden centres, which is a shame, because it's nice to be able to go out, pick plants for your garden and have a greater variety.
01:34I feel that possibly, if we're left with just B&Q providing us with gardening needs, that won't be as good as having a variety.
