Sheffield has been named as one of the best places to live in the North - and it's easy to see why

00:00Today the Sunday Times announced Sheffield as one of the top cities to live in in the

00:03North. From cool independent coffee shops to beautiful parks, come on a tour around

00:07the city with me to find out just how we managed to make that list.

00:11So the first stop on our tour is going to be Cambridge Street Collective. Now this is

00:15actually the biggest food hall in Europe which is pretty exciting and you can just see from

00:20these videos here why it's so popular. It's absolutely massive and there's such a range

00:25of different foods.

00:27We're now headed to our next stop but as you can see from this video even in the built

00:30up areas there's always plants or trees hidden around the corner. You also can't help but

00:34notice all of the new shops that seem to be cropping up across the city.

00:38Now we've reached our next stop which is the Peace Gardens and it was a beautiful day today

00:43and everyone was sitting out enjoying the sun and I think the water features are definitely

00:47a favourite of the kids running through them. A lot of my friends that have come up to visit

00:51have actually also said the same thing about the water features and how they're so amazing

00:55so take what you will from that. A short walk away from this I made a quick pit stop at

00:59the Orchard Terrace which I actually didn't find for quite a few years of living in Sheffield

01:04but I'm glad that I did eventually stumble in one day. It's great for cheap dates and

01:09pizza and all sorts of things so definitely go stick your head in and see what's on offer.

01:15Now we're going from one square to another. We've reached Leopold Square. This is actually

01:19quite quiet in the daytime. It has restaurants like Wagamama and things like that open but

01:23at night is when it really lights up. Talking of nights out I now turned onto West Street

01:28which is known for its amazing nights out. Not so exciting in the day but there are some

01:33nice vintage shops and restaurants to discover. As you can see from these videos the transport

01:39is actually very good in Sheffield as well. Trams run very regularly and buses might be

01:43a little less reliable but they always eventually turn up. And now here we are on what I would

01:48argue is the coolest street in Sheffield, Division Street. Here is where you get all

01:53the best vintage finds whether that's through the Kilo store or the more curated sort of

01:59second hand shop. They also have a real range of quirky little coffee shops and restaurants

02:06that you can enjoy while you're shopping. I also love this little plant shop. I want

02:12to buy everything and decorate my whole home with it. I spoke about Sheffield's great

02:17transport links earlier but cycling is also actually a very easy way to get around in

02:21Sheffield. They obviously have that mural there and you can see a guy cycling past here

02:25so don't be afraid to hop on that bike. Here I'm walking through to the Winter Gardens

02:30which I was not expecting to find when I first walked around Sheffield. I feel like you can

02:34stumble upon them and just question why there's basically a massive greenhouse in the middle

02:38of the city. But I think it's absolutely beautiful. Today there was actually a family event going

02:44on but it's so great that this is open for free to the public. I also simply had to stop

02:50to take a video of this cute little artwork that I think embodies the city pretty well.

02:55And now as I'm leaving you can see the Crucible is directly opposite. This really brings the

02:59culture to Sheffield. The Crucible and the Lyceum are the two big theatres in Sheffield

03:04and they have shows on year round to go and see.
