Brunch at The Furnace in Sheffield city centre

Sheffield Star reporter Kirsty Hamilton visited The Furnace in Charter Square, Sheffield, for brunch.

00:00 We were invited to try out the brunch menu at the furnace and it was an opportunity we could not turn down.

00:07 The furnace opened in Charter Square as part of the Heart of the City development in May 2021, but this was my first time visiting.

00:15 When we arrived we were very quickly seated at a table and it was just so cosy.

00:20 I couldn't resist ordering a tea because that is what I always have in my breakfast.

00:25 And then I got the eggs royale which you can see pictured, just cooked to perfection.

00:31 I was having a very hard time deciding what to have for my brunch but this is what the waitress recommended.

00:37 My plus one got the veggie full English and as you're about to see, definitely got the thumbs up from both of us.

00:43 We finished our brunch at about midday which meant that the full menu was now available and we couldn't say no to dessert.

00:50 I got the chocolate brownie with honeycomb and vanilla ice cream and oh my god, it was really good.

00:57 It was very rich but you bet I finished it.

01:01 My plus one got that affogato, sorry for the pronunciation, and this was an espresso shot served on top of brownie and ice cream.

01:11 You can now upgrade your brunch by paying an extra £25 for bottomless drinks, but we didn't do this on a work day.
