00:00uh getting back to rory a little bit um obviously plays well here champ past champion here um i want
00:08to talk a little about about his golf this week but i think we kind of know i mean first of all
00:12let's start with this and there's some quotes he had about the rider cup that i found particularly
00:15interesting and i want to get your gauge on whether or not he's playing my games but
00:19we saw we saw rory complete the career grand slam we had this big conversation in augusta about
00:25does this take the pressure off do we see a whole different version of rory on the back end of
00:29this and then and it almost seemed like he was wearing it more he had this sort of exhaustion
00:36that they seem like you know the whole thing the pga with the failed test the driver understandably
00:41upset didn't play great at oakmont didn't seem to enjoy the challenge there as much had some comments
00:45of frustration there um do you think getting overseas closer to home uh an irish open that
00:55we're finally seeing a guy that is feeling the relaxation of completing the career grand slam
00:59and maybe getting some of the joy back and being around the game oh i think so i mean it definitely
01:04was uh a bit burnout i think which is understandable after winning the masters and all these expectations
01:11of us like wanting them just to go right back to winning and and not having a chance to enjoy it so
01:15uh some people you know mentally and emotionally we don't we don't know what he went through the last
01:2110 years to win a major championship and uh so certainly not going to judge uh you know what's
01:27happened over the last three or four months with rory and the media and just his um desire of wanting
01:34to uh play professional golf uh at the level that he knows he wants to play at but it's got to be hard
01:39too for him every time he tees up uh he wants to be able to go out there and think that he can win a
01:45golf tournament and mentally you know what that takes as a golfer and so i when you don't have
01:50that that mental drive uh it can be tough because you really have to rely heavily on your physical
01:55skills if those are a little bit off these guys are too good you're not going to go out and
01:59and rip off wins unless you're firing on both sides of the game uh last year at the scottish open
02:05rory was asked about the possibility of a rider cup playing captain said it was skeptical it could be
02:10done in the modern era uh he's asked again on friday and uh rory said i definitely think the
02:18u.s team is better with keegan playing than not playing i definitely think he's one of the best
02:2112 american players right now it's going to be an interesting couple months to see how that all
02:25shakes out uh genuine or mind games where where do you shake out on this well i i think he's being uh
02:33he's always fairly honest when it comes to his quotes and i it's hard not to agree with him
02:37i lost a common teammate so he would never do something to his fellow ball frog you know
02:43listen the pga of america i think has put keegan bradley in a really tough position
02:47and when you get that call to be the rider cup captain you can't say no right like very few people
02:53have ever said no tiger woods probably be one of the few players to ever say no uh to being the rider
02:58cup captain so it's tough for a guy that's you know still playing at a very high level that you know
03:05clearly he is one of the best american players that should be on this team and is now being you know
03:10put in a position to uh you know have have to make a really tough call
