At a "Rally For Our Republic" event in Savannah, Georgia on Saturday, Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) spoke about a canceled grant for the town of Thomasville, Georgia.
Transcript
00:00Do you all know Thomasville, Georgia? Thomas County, just a few miles from the
00:06Florida line, small, rural. Thomasville's never gotten much love from Washington.
00:13There's short health care options, the infrastructure is old, so a couple years
00:17back we allocated federal funds to help them build a new health clinic and
00:21upgrade their sewers. The health clinics and sewers didn't used to be controversial.
00:29But then out of nowhere, the Trump administration canceled the grant for
00:34Thomasville. You all know why? First, because the project had the word justice in it.
00:42And justice is now a forbidden word in Washington. And second, because a tiny
00:50amount of the grant was for electric lawnmowers to maintain the new facilities
00:55and electric vehicles, which were supposed to be Georgia's economic future, are now
01:00considered woke. So no more health clinic, no more sewer upgrades for Thomasville.
01:07See, they're all trapped in this right-wing internet ideology.
