Transcript
00:00Later today, Senate Republicans will confirm Donald Trump's first judicial nominee of his
00:05second term, Whitney Hermandorfer to be a circuit judge on the Sixth Circuit.
00:11We all know when it comes to judges, Donald Trump cares only about one thing, total unyielding
00:18fealty to Donald Trump.
00:20Not experience, not judicial independence, not knowledge or desire to pursue the law,
00:27but brazen, uncomplicated fealty to Donald Trump.
00:31That's how he chooses judges.
00:33That's how the people under him choose judges.
00:35We've never seen this in America.
00:36It could have been a conservative like Ronald Reagan, someone like George Bush or H.W. Bush
00:43or Clinton or Obama.
00:45They all looked.
00:46They wanted their, you know, they wanted someone to have some philosophical kinship with them.
00:53But they said, will they follow the law?
00:54Do they know the law?
00:55Not this administration.
00:56It's so different than all the others in a very bad way.
01:00Donald Trump doesn't care about the law or what the Constitution says.
01:05He says that himself.
01:07He only wants his foot soldiers in black robes defending him when he tries to do whatever
01:12he wants.
01:14Ms. Hermandorfer has failed to show that she can be an independent jurist committed to
01:18upholding the law.
01:20She has less than 10 years of legal experience.
01:23She has never served as the sole or chief counsel on a single case.
01:28She has made a career out of going after people's reproductive rights, transgender rights, and
01:34anti-discrimination policies.
01:37For nominees like Ms. Hermandorfer the standard, our courts are weakened.
01:41The judiciary runs amok.
01:43The American people are worse off.
01:45I strongly, strongly oppose her nomination.
01:49Voice of you from the officer of John Tsui.
01:50That answers her concern.
01:50Right.
01:51What has happened?
01:51No.
01:51I think for the women are extraordinary.
01:53How has happened?
01:54No.
01:54No, I think that kind of happened in this prison.
01:54You get to the poor and look at the party to carry on the doctrine of the law .
