00:00The death toll in Gaza, we're told, has now passed the 58,000 mark.
00:05Just tell us what the latest is that you're hearing about the situation on the ground
00:08and where the worst of the violence is concentrated.
00:13To start off, I think it's important to remember that this number is very, very overwhelming.
00:20It's a very large number, but we're talking about real people here.
00:24There's at least 17,000 children reported killed within that toll.
00:34Those aren't numbers.
00:36Those are boys and girls.
00:38They're toddlers and babies.
00:39That's what we're talking about.
00:41In reality, what we've seen over the past couple of weeks is mass casualty events really on a daily basis.
00:48On Thursday, there were nine children killed with four women.
00:53They were queuing with their mothers, waiting to get nutrition support, UNICEF nutrition support in Deirabala.
01:00Yesterday morning, seven children were killed, waiting for water in Al-Nusayrat.
01:06And I just saw another report, a breaking news report of several people killed, including possibly children,
01:14in a strike on tents in the Almawasi area in southern Gaza, where families have been told to go to.
01:24So 21 months into this war, there is no safe place in Gaza.
01:31At times, violence has been concentrated in specific areas, especially the eastern side of the Gaza Strip,
01:39the northern part of Gaza, but the reality is that people aren't safe anywhere.
01:47Here's what we left behind them.
01:59Have a great day.
