00:00Let's turn our attentions to the Democrats now, because we're also seeing discontent between elected leadership and grassroots members, even though Joey disagrees.
00:10The grassroots often lean left on many domestic and international issues.
00:16And a Reuters poll last month of self-identifying Democrats found that 64 percent believe the leadership needs to be replaced,
00:24which perhaps isn't surprising, given how well Zoran Mamdani did in the party's New York mayoral primaries.
00:32So whether it's Republicans swinging right or Democrats swinging left, both appear to be favouring these anti-establishment candidates over moderate voices.
00:42So, Destiny, is it that American politics is becoming more radicalised on both sides?
00:49Are moderate voices unpopular, or is it just that they don't make as much noise?
00:54I think it's the noise thing.
00:55I think people confuse moderate messaging and extremist messaging with moderate policies and extremist policies.
01:02I think you just have to message your moderate policies in an extreme way.
01:06Mamdani ran a really good campaign.
01:07I think he's got good ads.
01:08The guy is significantly to the left of me on several issues.
01:12But, I mean, the Democrats ran, you know, the most establishment and then guy with baggage that they could, Cuomo.
01:18And Mamdani ended up winning the primary.
01:21So, I mean, what are you going to do?
01:22So, like I said, I think he's to the left of me, and I wouldn't have voted for him if I lived in New York.
01:26But if he's going to be the candidate, then you support him in the general.
01:28You see how his term goes as New York mayor.
01:30Maybe some things he tries ends up working.
01:32If they don't, well, then you definitely know they don't work, and then you just move on to the next election.
01:35Okay.
01:35Let's give it an example.
01:36Let's do it.
01:58Let's do it.
