Priyank Kharge criticizes Centre for inaugurating Sigandur Bridge without K’taka CM

Bengaluru, July 14, 2025 (ANI): Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge on July 14 slammed Centre for not coordinating with State government on inauguration of Sigandur Bridge and said that this habit has been followed by Central govt for over a decade now. “This habit has been followed by the central govt for over a decade now. We were also in Delhi earlier, but we have never done this kind of politics. We would follow the protocols and structure, giving due respect to the state government and local representatives. Now, someone from Delhi decides that this is the time to inaugurate something and sends the invitation very late, showing that you are invited, but you can't make it to the event. They are inaugurating projects on video conference and claiming the propriety... We have also invested money in this, given the structure and land... Everything has been happening only from Delhi, as if the state government has no role in it. This is wrong,” said Priyank Kharge.

00:29to inaugurate, and they just send an invite late in the day.

00:36It should look like you have been invited, but you can't make it as well.

00:40See, even we are running a government here, we are also responsible.

00:42We would have fixed our local programs, state-level programs,

00:47and it's not that we don't want to attend, but if there is prior intimation,

00:53we can also make the right arrangements.

00:55So, this is something that the government of India has been following ever since Modi ji has come.

01:00We have invested money, we have given infrastructure, we have given land,

01:12we have acquired land for central government, and this is happening regularly.

01:18It's just not for this project.

01:19Any railway project, any irrigation project, any infrastructure project,

01:25everything seems to be happening only from Delhi as if the state government has no role in it.

01:31This is wrong.
