00:25Forja Singh passed away on Monday in a road accident in Punjab's Jalandhar district.

00:32He was 114 years old.

00:35According to reports, Forja Singh had gone out for a walk in his ancestral village, Bias,

00:41where he was hit by an unidentified vehicle.

00:45He sustained severe head injuries and was rushed to a private hospital in Jalandhar,

00:51where he succumbed to his injuries later in the evening.

00:55The tragic incident has been confirmed by Jalandhar police.

01:33I am deeply saddened by the passing of the great marathon runner and symbol of perseverance, Sardar Forja Singh Ji.
