00:00Okay guys, you went over the roof of the dressing room, we all know what we expect out of each other.
00:07A good, strong, solid, clean fight.
00:09The trunks are good here, the trunks are a little high, I'll let them work here.
00:12Let's touch them up and we can go to work.
00:15Can the Olympian live up to his pro potential?
00:19That is the question.
00:20In our first fight of the night, look at the odds.
00:22The odds makers certainly think so.
00:24Minus 2,500 for the young fighter from California.
00:30We're underway in round number one.
00:35Here's Valderas.
00:38In the red and yellow trunks.
00:40A little bit of gold there, green on the side.
00:44BriseƱo from Mexico with the black.
00:46See the height and reach advantage for BriseƱo.
00:49Very tall for the weight class, 6 foot tall for 140 pounder.
00:52That's some good height and reach.
00:53He has his losses, but on a four-fight win streak.
00:56I'm sorry, Paulie, go ahead.
00:57No, you see him trying to establish that height too.
00:58You see him with those touch little, establishing that touch jab.
01:02Usually that's a counter-punching stance.
01:04You know, when you're trying to touch, you're trying to drag something out of your opponent
01:06and then you encounter it.
01:07But it's also trying to establish that height.
01:09Trying to prevent a guy like Valderas from getting closer and establishing himself.
01:14When we talked to Valderas, he talked about, look, I've got to get it together here.
01:17You know, he said, I was an Olympian.
01:19I was one of those guys who was really supposed to shine.
01:20A couple tough losses.
01:22And I see you nodding, Chris, because it's this idea of potential needs to be fulfilled in the ring.
01:26I actually called a bunch of Carlos' fights in the day, and there was a lot of hype around him.
01:30He said, you know, with Olympian, he's coming up.
01:32He's very skilled.
01:33Took two losses, but if you look at the losses in hindsight, they're two very good fighters.
01:37You know, he's got, yeah, Rene Telesco, who's fought on our air.
01:41He's a really, really good puncher.
01:43He got caught in that fight and was stopped.
01:44And then he lost at night here, Albright, who gave, uh, uh, Deontay, I'm sorry, Deontay,
01:49Keyshawn Davis' help, and then beat his brother.
01:51So, you know, it's respectable losses.
01:53Yeah, they've aged very, very well.
01:55He says, I need to be dominant in this fight.
01:58I want to move on to the next phase of my career.
02:02Look at pretty sharp here in round one.
02:04You do a good job cutting off the ring from the taller man.
02:07You see that overhand right.
02:09That's a great weapon against a taller guy if he doesn't bring that jab straight back home.
02:12Nice snap jab there.
02:14By the dead, it's down low.
02:15That's some real snappy shots.
02:17I like to see him be a little bit busier, though.
02:18A little bit of waiting in the can.
02:21Those snappy shots.
02:22Nice jab return.
02:25From Valderas, but ReseƱo getting away from that jab that you thought might be effective early on, Paul.
02:30He's kind of just pawing with it right now.
02:31Yeah, he was pawing with it, but, you know, you do have to mix it with some snappy shots.
02:34Also, you're not the busiest guy, so that's another reason why you'd like to see Valderas.
02:37Valderas get busy on him.
02:38There's some dead spots here where, you know, ReseƱo kind of just touches, hoping to just keep Valderas away,
02:44but he's not throwing anything sustained to where he can get Valderas' respect.
02:47So I think Valderas is right there.
02:49Nice right there.
02:50Good counter.
02:50Over the top.
02:51That's what you want to see.
02:51You want to see some power being thrown by Valderas and get a bit busier with it,
02:54because there's nothing ReseƱo is doing to really prevent that.
02:57But did you see ReseƱo came right back with that left hook upstairs?
02:59He's a scrappy guy.
03:00If you look at his record, he's another one of those guys.
03:02You've got to look past the record.
03:03He's fought tons of top opposition and very rarely gets stopped.
03:12All opportunities in boxing, gentlemen, as you know, not created equal.
03:16A lot of times you're flown in late, flown in without a full camp.
03:19Hasn't always been put in a position to succeed in his career.
03:22Good action here in round one from both these guys.
03:29Good shot.
03:30Nice.
03:30Nice.
03:52Welcome back to Pro Box TV.
04:06Getting ready for round number two.
04:08It's been a good round for Carlos Valderas in round number one.
04:13Some success, gentlemen, with that overhand right.
04:15As you said, Chris, good weapon against a taller fighter.
04:17But as Pauly pointed out, ReseƱo is just not doing enough to keep him away.
04:21But, yeah, I think you see why people were so excited about Valderas in that first round.
04:26He was explosive.
04:26He was snappy.
04:27A good combinations.
04:28He knew how to fight the taller fighter.
04:30So, I really like what I'm seeing so far from Valderas.
04:32But the same as one of those guys.
04:33He's going to push it to the limit.
04:38Straight out, taking the center in round number two is Valderas.
04:43He has that style where he knows how to hang around.
04:45He doesn't overdo too much.
04:47He kind of knows how to balance and budget himself.
04:49And, you know, with 11 losses, it doesn't really matter if he gets number 12.
04:53But if he can hang around long enough, he may get winning number 19 instead.
04:55You know, so he kind of understands that.
04:57And he kind of fights with that demeanor you can see.
05:00So it's up to Valderas to really feel that sense of urgency for himself
05:04and see how he wants to win this fight.
05:06Does he want to look spectacular?
05:07Does he want to make a statement?
05:08Or is he just content in letting Valderas kind of cruise through a defeat?
05:12And Valderas says, I'm tired of eight rounders.
05:13I want to move up to the tens.
05:15I want to get some better opportunities here.
05:16And I know I have to be dominant tonight.
05:18What I mean, let Valderas say, you know, I mean, he's only 30 years old,
05:24but he has 30 professional fights.
05:26You know, he has his 11 losses, got a ton of experience.
05:28Like you said, champion knows how to survive.
05:30A stoppage win here for Valderas would be a major statement.
05:33He's never been stopped, right?
05:34He has been stopped, but it's few and far between.
05:37He said before, a four-fight win streak.
05:42Coming in with some confidence, looking for momentum on his own,
05:45but he's content to play the outside, just throw jabs.
05:54I'd like to see a little more jabbing from Valderas.
05:57Spending a little bit too much time looking for those counters.
06:00Oh, another good right hand.
06:03I'm going to see that counter right hand on the top of the way.
06:05He's got a jab.
06:07He's slapping right in there from Presenio.
06:09I mean, through something with a weight on him.
06:10Yeah, right?
06:11Presenio turned pro at age 18, basically,
06:14when Valderas was heading to the Olympics,
06:17working on his amateur career.
06:19Presenio already in the pros, had to learn on the job.
06:22This good stiff, hard jab from Valderas,
06:24and a double, triple left hand, finishes with left hook to the liver.
06:31One thing you always see, those guys are the big amateur backgrounds,
06:33the Olympians, and they just got good eyes.
06:35So they see things, they stay nice and relaxed,
06:37they can stay in the pocket, they have good awareness,
06:40and you see that with Valderas.
06:41Yeah, you see that.
06:42The only thing about Valderas, though, what I'm noticing is,
06:45in between that super impressive stuff,
06:47there's a lot of dead spots.
06:48He's a jab.
06:49Yeah.
06:50That's why he's a jab.
06:51Exactly.
06:51All the beautiful things he's doing,
06:55if he was filling those gaps with jabs,
06:57it would be very different.
06:58Yes.
06:59That's what they got to throw a big shot,
07:00after him out of range,
07:01and he walked through the upper.
07:02That caught him right into the eye,
07:03got a little mouse developing immediately.
07:09Success from Presenio.
07:10Super jab would have been better, eh?
07:11No.
07:13Valderas, you know, 15 wins, 13 by knockout.
07:16He's used to finishing fighters.
07:17He's used to having a big effect with those right hands.
07:21He's got wings.
07:22There's that stiff jab.
07:25You know, honestly, both these guys are punchers.
07:27Even Presenio, he's got 11 KOs, there's 18 wins,
07:29so these guys can both punch.
07:31Oh, good left hook, Valderas.
07:33Hard!
07:34Believing in his power at the end of round number two.
07:41Now, Paul, you said it, you know, great fighters.
07:43It's not just about the bricks, it's about the mortar.
07:45Little stuff you do in between,
07:47and he seems content to stand in front
07:49and wait for his opportunity for big power.
07:50Yeah, but instead of waiting for the opportunity,
07:52you've got to know how to create the big power.
07:54You know, and I think that's also what you want to see
07:55from on the part of Valderas.
07:57You see here, a little bit of waiting here
07:58comes over the top of the right hand very nicely.
08:01Presenio's got his olive chin.
08:02He took that one right from the money.
08:03Presenio, you know, Valderas good on Valderas to notice.
08:06Presenio really doesn't step down hard with that jab.
08:07He just kind of puts it out there, kind of bulges it.
08:10So it's to the point where Valderas realizes,
08:12yeah, I can't step back on this jab.
08:13He'll take me out of range.
08:14But he's not throwing it hard.
08:15Let me just step in and count over the top of it.
08:18I don't even know he's okay,
08:19but he's taking some good shots.
08:21Valderas also had seven fights
08:22in the World Series of Boxing.
08:24We're okay, Mark.
08:26Part of the USA Knockouts team.
08:28Three.
08:29Three.
08:30Mouthpiece.
08:31Three.
08:31Three.
08:38We begin round number three.
08:41Valderas once again taking the center.
08:44As you can see,
08:53Blaseno has had his moments.
08:58This isn't just a seasoned vet.
08:59You can see him in there.
09:00He's very relaxed,
09:01very poised.
09:05Taking more and more liberties
09:06as these rounds go on,
09:08throwing that big looping right hand.
09:09He's landed some good shots of his own.
09:15Bad spots by Valderas.
09:16Bad spots, I mean.
09:17Ooh.
09:17Bad spots by Valderas.
09:19Liberal use of the jab by Verseno.
09:22Yeah, that's me.
09:23Verseno's busy saying,
09:24if you're not gonna throw the spots,
09:25I'm gonna throw the spots with the jab,
09:26and that's what he's taking the chance of doing it.
09:30You can see
09:31the nice staggered one-two there
09:32by Valderas' jab to the jab low,
09:35right-hand high.
09:37Verseno stays calm, though.
09:38Look at him.
09:38He's not...
09:39You can see how a varied jab
09:41would bother Valderas does this.
09:42But his head is very, very simple.
09:45It's given Valderas' problems
09:46because he's not jamming with this in you.
09:51Which is something that Nayir Albright
09:53was able to do against Valderas.
09:55It was a very good jab.
09:55He's a lot of the weight class.
09:59Valderas has had 211 days off
10:02since his last fight.
10:04But if there are...
10:05There's a little bit of ring rust.
10:06We haven't seen much of it.
10:07It's been his kind of fight.
10:08Power punches inside.
10:10So far, a good round so far for Verseno.
10:12Yeah, these guys,
10:13they started fast.
10:13There wasn't much for feeling out
10:14around the first round.
10:15Action started pretty much
10:16from the opening bell.
10:21He's so explosive,
10:22but yet, champ, you're right,
10:23that there's the walls
10:24in between the explosion.
10:25If you could have consistency there,
10:27that would be...
10:27It would really raise his notch
10:29on another level
10:30because he's...
10:31You can see he's got the goods.
10:32He's just a matter of decision-making.
10:33Verseno's corner calling for combinations.
10:36They want him a bit busier,
10:37a bit more active.
10:38When he throws punches
10:39and punches in a bunch of gentlemen,
10:40he lands.
10:40It's just tough
10:41because Valdera is explosive
10:42and he can throw in the middle with you.
10:44And you get hit with those shots
10:45you don't see
10:46is when you get hurt the most.
10:48I thought you just keep jabbing.
10:50That gives Valdera problems
10:51in and of itself, you know.
10:53But Verseno also goes away
10:54from the jab every time
10:54when he doesn't have to.
10:55And like I said,
10:56Verseno's jab is pretty simple.
10:58If he would even value...
10:59Another good right hand.
11:01That's a good stiff jab
11:02from Valdera.
11:02And the trade champs
11:03that right hand.
11:04And that staggered one-two again.
11:06You thought Verseno
11:07didn't have a chin.
11:09You are much mistaken.
11:10He's hitting some clean punches.
11:12That's what I think about
11:13by that is when he does
11:14let me like go.
11:15He's very precise.
11:15Those punches have been
11:16landed right on the chin.
11:17Well, we'll play shots.
11:19Look at everything
11:20at the way he punches
11:20though.
11:20They're all arm punches.
11:21He just kind of touches you
11:23like he's tagging you, you know.
11:23You see that?
11:26It's like he's playing tag.
11:27Yep.
11:28Not much speed on it either.
11:31Once again, Valderas.
11:32Ooh.
11:33Big loopy shot there.
11:34Taking over the second
11:35half of this round.
11:35Time!
11:53Welcome back
12:13on Pro Box TV.
12:15This is our opening fight.
12:17Eight rounds
12:18in the super lightweight division
12:19and Carlos Valderas
12:21showing his power
12:23and Braseno
12:23unfortunately
12:24showing his chin.
12:25Yeah.
12:25Yeah, it's uh
12:26Braseno
12:28is definitely
12:28a solid poised
12:30tough guy
12:30but Valderas, man
12:31he's really showing
12:32his class
12:33playing some beautiful
12:34right hands
12:35cutting angles
12:36would like to see him
12:36be a little busier
12:37with the jab
12:38but when he goes
12:39man, he's very explosive.
12:40Yeah, and the times
12:41when he's jabbed
12:41out of those combinations
12:42he's even going to
12:43snap the head back
12:44of Braseno.
12:44Yeah, he's got a good jab.
12:45I just want to see more of it.
12:53Yeah, you see
12:53Valderas does everything well.
12:54He just needs to put it together
12:55in the right recipe
12:57to make it work
12:58consistently.
13:00Oh, man.
13:01Left hook right hand
13:02combinations
13:02been here all night.
13:04Those are brutal shots.
13:06Again, but you see
13:07it's a little spot
13:08now what's he going to do
13:09in between?
13:09That's what we've been saying, right?
13:11He's got those nice
13:12impressive shots
13:12and in between
13:13a lot of weight
13:14a lot of weight
13:14again.
13:17Still weight.
13:17Still weight.
13:18That's the problem
13:21about that.
13:22That's why he's 15 and 2
13:23and that hasn't lived up
13:23to the elite.
13:26It's all there
13:26when you're watching.
13:28Nice catch and shoot
13:29down the hook.
13:30You watch him
13:30in the right moment
13:31you're like,
13:31wow, this guy's amazing.
13:32But then if you watch him
13:32in the wrong moment
13:33you're like,
13:33ah, that's why.
13:34No, Pauly,
13:34what separates
13:35the goods from the greats
13:36is that consistency
13:37of activity in him.
13:39Power's certainly there
13:41in Spurs.
13:42Complaining that was low
13:43referee says keep him up.
13:44Look right on the belt line
13:45but I like the idea
13:46and the combination
13:47to come with that
13:48counter right here
13:48over the top
13:48and they go back
13:49down to their body
13:49on the opposite side.
13:50Very difficult
13:51to defend against.
13:52Oh, big right hand again.
13:55This might be a theme
13:56tonight.
13:57A fighter from Guadalajara,
13:59Mexico has got a chin
14:00on him.
14:01I'm going to see
14:01a lot of that tonight.
14:03I will say this though
14:04about that.
14:05He does have some
14:06late power.
14:07He scored a 6th round
14:08knockout his last fight.
14:09Two fights before that
14:098th round knockout.
14:11So the power does
14:12come on late as well.
14:14He's ripping right hands
14:15if they take their toll,
14:16Chris.
14:17There's a left hook
14:18called by another
14:19right hand.
14:20This has been the best
14:20round so far from
14:21Aldera's.
14:22He's really nice
14:22thunderous shots.
14:24He's been in front to be
14:33hit the entire time.
14:34Not a ton of head
14:34movement either.
14:35And you would think
14:39with the height
14:40advantage he has
14:41at least if he's
14:41stepping out of range
14:43but he's too slow.
14:44Valdera does have an
14:45explosive step
14:46when he steps in.
14:49As you always say,
14:50Paulie, a lot of ways
14:50to control range.
14:51That's a taller guy.
14:52Yes.
14:53He's letting the shorter
14:53man get in and dictate
14:54that.
14:55You're seeing more and more
14:56from the senior.
14:57It's more get-off-me punches
14:58rather than actually
14:59trying to do any damage.
15:00Establish something.
15:06My right hand has been
15:08pretty consistent.
15:09Oh!
15:09I told you this.
15:10You guys have told
15:11what you think was chained.
15:12I told you that.
15:13I got to put an exclamation
15:15point on there.
15:15This thing is a good right hand
15:17from my lot of clean shots.
15:19Remember, we only...
15:20just about halfway through
15:21this eighth round fight
15:23in round number four.
15:25A lot of times that damage
15:26kind of soaks in
15:27a little bit later.
15:28Yeah, and...
15:29Seno's getting zero respect
15:31from Valderas right now.
15:32He's really just kind of
15:33picking off all those shots
15:34easily.
15:36And also, when the punches
15:37aren't hard,
15:38even when you're blocking,
15:39there's no fucking
15:39punch.
15:40It doesn't make you
15:40be resistant.
15:44So far, it has not shown
15:45any difficulties
15:46with the punches
15:47of Resenio.
15:51Well, August 15th,
15:52we are back in Florida.
15:54That's right.
15:55William Foster
15:55versus Yakubov,
15:5722-1.
15:5912 knockout
16:01versus 19-2,
16:0211 knockout
16:03from the super
16:03featherweight division.
16:06Foster was absolutely
16:07outstanding last time
16:09on our air.
16:10That was in D.C.
16:11It was fantastic.
16:13I think his return
16:14to ProBox TV
16:15with another all-action
16:1850-50 fight
16:20we pride ourselves
16:21on.
16:22here
16:23and it's happening
16:24again in Fresno,
16:25California,
16:26our opening fight
16:26of the night.
16:28Carlos Balderas
16:30showing his power.
16:32Chris, you call it
16:32the best round
16:33of the fight
16:33for him so far.
16:34Yeah, I thought you
16:35like the biggest,
16:36cleanest, heaviest shots.
16:37It was most consistent
16:38in that round
16:38than he was
16:39in the other rounds.
16:40You're starting to see,
16:41you're being broken down
16:42little by little
16:43by the explosive power
16:45of Balderas.
16:46Senna's corner
16:55right next to us.
16:56They've been pouring
16:57their fighter
16:57to be a little busier
16:58for more combinations.
16:59And one jab
17:01is not doing enough
17:02to keep the real
17:03Olympian off of him.
17:08I'd like to see
17:09Basenio put a little
17:10more oomph
17:10into his shots.
17:11He's really just
17:12putting the stuff
17:13out there,
17:13not getting much respect.
17:15There we go,
17:15some harder shots there.
17:16A variation too,
17:17a little left-tock,
17:18left elbow
17:18combination.
17:19There it is again.
17:20He came out
17:20the first round
17:21throwing that double-triple
17:21left hand.
17:22And gentlemen,
17:23it's not as though
17:23Balderas hasn't been
17:24there to be hit.
17:25He's been hittable
17:26throughout this fight.
17:27Because he gives you
17:27those dead spots.
17:31And even though
17:31he's a shorter guy,
17:32he hangs out
17:33in the middle distance.
17:34There's spots
17:35for Basenio
17:36to let his hands go.
17:43Nice overhand right.
17:45Big looping shot.
17:52All he talked about
17:55all the time
17:55when you have
17:55that amateur pedigree.
17:57You've been an Olympian.
17:58Cleaner lines.
17:59Sometimes looping shots.
18:00You don't see him coming.
18:01Yeah, one thing I've
18:01noticed about
18:02Basenio Lange
18:03that throws that
18:04overhand right.
18:05That doesn't really
18:05react to it.
18:06You know,
18:06he tries to slip and roll
18:07with it.
18:07There's no counter on it.
18:09You think at a certain
18:10point he's starting
18:10to get a timing on it.
18:11Because it is a shot you see.
18:17Come to change up pitch,
18:18right, Paulie?
18:19It's so slow,
18:19you don't quite react
18:20the right way to it.
18:21Sometimes the goofy shots
18:25are funny
18:25because they leave
18:26your field of vision
18:27and then make the hitches.
18:30I know we've been
18:31talking about Basenio's
18:32chin.
18:32Let's look at his body, too.
18:33He's taking some good
18:34hard luck to the liver, too.
18:36Hasn't shown much,
18:36much, much effect.
18:39Once again,
18:40leaning into that right hand.
18:43Not much after it.
18:49Nice.
18:50Nice.
18:50Nice.
18:50Nice shot there.
18:51He's seeing you
18:51with the left hook.
18:52He smothers himself
18:53at the time.
18:53He's too close.
19:01That's one thing
19:01when you've got a guy
19:02who's not jabbing
19:03sternly at you,
19:04you could almost
19:04use their own jab
19:05as your setup.
19:06And you've seen
19:06about that.
19:07It's used that.
19:07The jab will hit him
19:08but it doesn't matter.
19:09He's punching right through it.
19:10I don't know how to hold.
19:12I don't know how to hold.
19:12There's a lot of warnings
19:13for his shots he doesn't see.
19:15Yeah.
19:15He was on the other side.
19:16We've seen some warnings
19:16on shots
19:17when he's on the other side
19:18and he's just taking
19:19out of the same award for it.
19:21Same line.
19:22Yeah.
19:24It was deep.
19:28That you missed it.
19:28Well, I actually did.
19:29The first time
19:36we see Cassino
19:37really hurt
19:38going back to the corner.
19:39He's wild up here.
19:43He is not holding.
19:45Let's see if
19:46about that
19:46is going to put
19:47something together here
19:48and compound this.
19:51Or he can go back
19:52to waiting, I guess.
19:53Yeah.
19:59Really, just really
20:01letting him off the hook.
20:08Amazing.
20:09Time.
20:29Perhaps a tactical mistake
20:48in round number five,
20:49gentlemen.
20:50Balderas landing
20:51some heavy punches.
20:52Brasino looked like
20:53he was hurt,
20:54but Balderas,
20:55as you gentlemen said,
20:56maybe let him off the hook.
20:57I mean,
20:58landing heavy shots,
20:58he'd be doing it all night,
20:59but he actually had an effect.
21:00It hurt Brasino,
21:02and he completely
21:03let him up the hook
21:03the last 30 seconds
21:04of the round.
21:06Balderas' corner
21:07said during the last round,
21:09look, you're in shape.
21:10Don't be afraid
21:11to push it.
21:13He did not
21:14at the end of round
21:15number five.
21:16That's why we're
21:16in round number six.
21:19Scheduled for eight,
21:20but Balderas
21:21looked like he had
21:21his man hurt.
21:22That's the thing
21:23about a guy like Bob Dech.
21:23You see how much talent
21:25he has.
21:25You see all the good
21:26things that he does,
21:27but it's still frustrating
21:28because he's not
21:28putting it in together
21:30and filling all those gaps.
21:35To us ringside,
21:37looked like he had
21:37Brasino hurt.
21:39That left hook combo
21:40does not follow up.
21:43Certainly doesn't follow up
21:44enough to take enough risk
21:45to get him out of there
21:46in round five.
21:47He's got some rounds in,
22:02which is good.
22:03He has shown some real
22:03flashes of good work.
22:05Very trusting referee
22:21when it comes to low blows
22:22so far.
22:24When we look at
22:24the CompuBox totals
22:25there, you see that.
22:27That's the idea
22:27that we got.
22:28More than double
22:29the amount of
22:30punches landed,
22:31power punches landed
22:32by Balderas.
22:33Yeah, when CompuBox
22:34tells us what our
22:35eyes are seeing,
22:37that's what we believe
22:38it the most.
22:38It looks like Balderas
22:39certainly has the
22:40power punching advantage
22:41tonight.
22:42And also,
22:43when you compare
22:44the kinds of power
22:45punches landed by
22:46Balderas versus
22:46those of Brasino,
22:47it's a very different
22:48quality of those shots.
22:51A lot of arm punching
22:52being done by Bisseno
22:53and that's the thing.
22:54He's not really getting
22:55the attention of Balderas.
22:57He's not getting the
22:57respect of Balderas
22:58as you were mentioning
22:58earlier, Champ.
23:00Balderas
23:00quickly holds his ground.
23:03Which is also frustrating
23:03because you see Balderas,
23:04if the guy's not getting
23:06respect,
23:06why not just do more?
23:11Oh, good.
23:11Heavy shot there
23:12from Bisseno.
23:13Gets through with
23:14the left hook.
23:14Has had faith in his
23:20power in previous fights.
23:22Once again,
23:2315 wins,
23:2313 knockouts.
23:24He knows he can get it
23:25done.
23:26And Brasino,
23:27I mean,
23:28excuse me about that,
23:28his conditioning looks
23:29good.
23:30He doesn't look at you
23:30breathing hard.
23:31He stayed explosive here
23:32into the sixth round.
23:33Triple right hand
23:34by Brasino.
23:37Back to the jab
23:38as Brasino.
23:39And he's had an
23:40awkward style throughout
23:41this fight.
23:42Looping shots,
23:43been pawing with the jab,
23:44but...
23:44He's been able to find
23:45a sustained offense.
24:03It's a nice little guard
24:04pull by the Olympian
24:05there.
24:06Guard pull right hand,
24:07which is a good move
24:08against a guy who comes
24:08in when earmuffs comes
24:09right at you,
24:10which Brasino did
24:11right there.
24:11It's more of the same
24:15as we end up
24:16into the final two rounds
24:18of this eight-round fight.
24:19told us that he wanted
24:33to steal the show.
24:35Balderas, of course,
24:35training with Robert Garcia.
24:37So working out of that gym
24:39with those monsters
24:39and Robert Garcia
24:40being in his ear,
24:41telling him how good he was,
24:43did a lot for his confidence.
24:45So I feel like it took me
24:46to another level here,
24:47but...
24:48As it's shown,
24:49as you said, Chris,
24:50the ability to put it together
24:51or go for the kill
24:53completely so far
24:54in this fight.
24:54Could be ring rust.
24:55I think you said
24:56the magic word there,
24:57Jimmy, is confidence.
24:57I'd like to see
24:58even more confidence
24:59because, listen,
25:00I see what he can do.
25:01I see the talent,
25:02I see the skill set.
25:03I see it in spots.
25:04He doesn't put it together
25:06the way you would think
25:07somebody with his talent level
25:08could do it.
25:09Which basically thinks
25:10confidence is the thing
25:10that's lacking.
25:11Because he got to get...
25:12Yep, he has it.
25:12He's going to be bored.
25:14Well, he also said
25:15that in his losses,
25:16he feels like he
25:17overlooked his opponents.
25:18Maybe he's being a little
25:19cautious this time around,
25:21trying to stay smart.
25:23But I understand
25:24why he might have
25:25overlooked those two opponents.
25:26Again, in hindsight,
25:28because of what his opponents
25:29have done since then,
25:31you've got to kind of
25:31look at it and be like,
25:32all right, well,
25:32those guys are actually
25:33very good fighters.
25:33So, you cause some losses.
25:35And at this point in your career,
25:36you also have enough experience
25:37to know where.
25:38Another big left hook
25:39has Presenio hurt.
25:41Chris, you talked about
25:42the late stopping ability.
25:44I don't know.
25:46I don't know what he's
25:47yelling at the ref about.
25:49Ref did not look like
25:50he was coming in
25:51to stop the fight,
25:51by the way.
25:52No, no.
25:52That was a beautiful
25:53left hook counter
25:54from Madanis.
25:57Another moment
25:58when Presenio
25:58was visibly hurt.
26:00But like I was saying
26:00before,
26:01the melee here,
26:04at this point in your career,
26:06you know what a quality fighter is
26:07and what a non-quality fighter is.
26:08Once you spend a couple rounds
26:09in with a fighter,
26:10you know when you can
26:11step it up
26:11or not step it up.
26:12I think,
26:12oh, nice shot there
26:13again by Valderas.
26:15Valderas knows,
26:15especially in the spots
26:16that he's had success here,
26:17you know what kind of level
26:18Presenio's on
26:18and what he can defend
26:19and what he can't defend.
26:20So for me,
26:20there's no excuses
26:21for so many dead spots here.
26:22Another good left hook.
26:24Hurts Presenio again.
26:25Oh, and a hard jab.
26:28But the damage has been done,
26:30Chris,
26:30with that left hand.
26:31All the right hands
26:32he's landed,
26:32the left hook
26:33has really done the damage
26:34against Presenio
26:35right by the ear.
26:36Yeah,
26:36the right hand
26:36has been really consistent,
26:37didn't do a whole lot of damage
26:39if you said Jimmy,
26:39but that left hook
26:40in this round
26:41has been super effective.
26:42It comes from out
26:42of the range of vision
26:43and a lot of times
26:44Presenio too high up
26:45and gets hit
26:46with that big hook.
26:48Also, I think
26:49about Valderas
26:50was punching
26:50with Presenio,
26:51which I think is smart
26:52when you got a guy
26:53who's not throwing
26:53real heavy dangerous shots.
26:55Punch with him.
26:59Another clean right hand.
27:00Can't miss that right hand.
27:03But Presenio seems
27:04to wear those right hands well.
27:05Let's look around the ear,
27:06though.
27:06As you guys know,
27:07your balance goes,
27:08sudden your legs are unsteady.
27:10Those have been
27:11the money punches
27:12for Valderas.
27:13Nice sneaky uppercut
27:15right through the center.
27:16I think some consistent
27:17body work
27:18by Valderas
27:19would be a good idea here.
27:20You got a guy
27:20who's tall,
27:21he's long,
27:21he's got a long torso.
27:22He's taking the punches
27:23to the head really well,
27:24but touch that body
27:26a little bit.
27:28He's been headhunting
27:29throughout this fight
27:30to your point, Chris.
27:33Good body shot there.
27:35That was not low at all.
27:39And again,
27:40the referee's on the opposite side.
27:41Couldn't really see
27:41where that punch landing.
27:42So called it low.
27:43I got a knockout
27:44taken away from me like that.
27:45Tell me about that.
27:46I tell you,
27:46Rocky Martinez.
27:48You will never forgive
27:50that referee.
27:51Benji Estevez.
27:52I like Benji Estevez.
27:53I like Benji Estevez.
27:54But man,
27:55the guy took her around,
27:56took a knee and everything.
27:57He was gone,
27:58but called it low
27:59and let him get five minutes
28:00to recover instead.
28:07Aldera's another dominant round.
28:11Will we see a knockout
28:13in this final round?
28:14That's the question.
28:14That's the question.
28:28Ladies and gentlemen,
28:29here inside of the Save March Center,
28:32one more to go.
28:34This is the eighth
28:36and final round.
28:39Combinations from Valderas.
28:42That was one of the most
28:43sustained salvos we've seen
28:45from either man tonight.
28:46And that was off of
28:47the strength of that left hook.
28:48That hurt, Brasenio,
28:49moments from the fire.
28:50And when Valderas
28:59lets those hands go,
29:00it's pretty.
29:08It would be hard-pressed
29:10to give Salvador Brasenio
29:12a single round
29:13of this eighth round fight
29:16as we begin round number eight.
29:18Could be just his pride
29:19keeping him up at this point,
29:21but how hard will Valderas
29:22push for the knockout?
29:23That's the question.
29:24The amount of right hands
29:25that he has blasted off
29:26of the chin of Brasenio tonight.
29:35Based on this performance,
29:36we want to talk about
29:37how fighters,
29:38how they move forward.
29:39Valderas,
29:40have we seen enough
29:41to want to see him
29:42in a step-up fight?
29:43At this point,
29:44he goes 16-2.
29:45There's still some
29:45things he's got to work on
29:47and what they cost him
29:48if he steps up.
29:49Are there things
29:50that he can fix
29:50from this fight?
29:52Regardless,
29:52I want to see him.
29:53I want to see him again.
29:54I like what I see.
29:55I like the sharp combinations.
29:57Again,
29:58all the things
29:59that we talked about,
29:59filling in those gaps
30:00for sure,
30:01but from what I've seen
30:02so far,
30:03I really like
30:03what his skill set is.
30:05my fear is a guy
30:06who moves around
30:07and buries his lead hand
30:08beats him
30:10and gives him problems.
30:11You know,
30:11a guy who's consistently
30:14pressuring you.
30:15What a knockdown!
30:18And it's over!
30:19Referee doesn't even count!
30:20The ref,
30:22the ref is looking at
30:24PerseƱo.
30:24Didn't even count!
30:26In rounds prior to.
30:27The ref got tired of him,
30:28yelling at him.
30:31I'm a good knockdown,
30:32but you could count.
30:33And PerseƱo had
30:35showed excellent shit
30:36up to this point.
30:37It's a tough Mexican fighter.
30:39But Jimmy,
30:40also to your point,
30:41hard-pressed to give him
30:41a round all night long.
30:43He's taken a ton of punishment.
30:45He's been hurt several times.
30:46The referee was looking
30:47at him in between the corners.
30:49Had the doctor
30:49check him out as well.
30:51Was the stoppage early?
30:52For me, yes, but...
30:53I'm telling you,
30:53I think it was
30:54going to be yawning.
30:57Let's take a look
30:58at it again.
30:59Hook off the jab.
31:00What a great combination.
31:01Boom, bang!
31:02Oh!
31:031-3-2.
31:04All three punches landed,
31:06but it was really
31:06that hook off that jab.
31:09Boom, bang!
31:10Oof!
31:11He didn't hit his hand
31:12on the canvas either.
31:14I'm always reminded,
31:15gentlemen of Floyd Mayweather.
31:17Remember Charmbe Mitchell
31:18when he fought
31:18Charmbe Mitchell?
31:19He drops him
31:20with a body shot.
31:21He's up at nine.
31:22Referee stops it.
31:23I remember the commentator
31:24going,
31:25ref saw which way
31:25this was going.
31:26It was just a one-way fight
31:28and the ref went,
31:29okay, you're up at nine,
31:30but I'm not splitting hairs here.
31:32There is sometimes,
31:33gentlemen,
31:33that attitude of a referee
31:34of, okay,
31:35you've lost eight rounds.
31:36Yeah, yeah.
31:37Let's...
31:37Let's just call it.
31:37...not give you a chance
31:38to get up again.
31:39So, Chris, I agree.
31:40I think it was premature
31:41or it was early,
31:43but I see the logic
31:44in the stoppage.
31:44Yeah, he also gets suspended.
31:48Yeah.
31:48Well, I'm percentual.
31:49He looks like a guy
31:50who surprised himself
31:51on being able to finish
31:52the fight,
31:53get to the end.
31:54I understand that.
31:56But, yeah,
31:57he's still pretty rocked
31:58over here, so...
31:59No, it was a definite,
32:01definitely a hard combination
32:03to drop,
32:03but he got up quickly.
32:05You know,
32:05looked at the ref like,
32:06hey, what's going on?
32:06But also the idea,
32:08gentlemen,
32:08when you said,
32:09do you want to see this guy again?
32:10This guy closed out the show
32:11in the eighth round of a fight.
32:12He was way ahead.
32:13Yeah.
32:14Entertainment value.
32:16Absolutely.
32:16Again,
32:17I like what I saw.
32:18He got the stoppage
32:19in emphatic fashion.
32:21Take a look at the numbers here.
32:22It's going to be
32:23heavily skewed.
32:24Yeah.
32:25To say the absolute least.
32:26You know,
32:27over 42% of your power punches
32:28landed,
32:28especially when you can punch.
32:30You get a result like that.
32:31You get a stoppage.
32:33And also,
32:34Graseno,
32:34as you said,
32:35Paulie,
32:35maybe somebody who can jab
32:36and vary that jab up,
32:38a little footwork.
32:39He just didn't land the percentage
32:40he needed to land of those jabs.
32:42Threw a lot of them,
32:42didn't land enough.
32:43It wasn't varied enough
32:44with them either.
32:48Well,
32:49Carlos Palderas
32:50wanted to move forward
32:50in his career.
32:51He took a big step tonight.
32:53Lupe,
32:54make it official.
32:54The winner,
33:11by way of K-0,
33:13Carlos Palderas!
33:21Gentlemen,
33:22it's what he told us
33:23he wanted to do,
33:24which is move on
33:25to the next step
33:26of his career.
33:27Definitely want to see him
33:28again in Pro Box TV,
33:29Chris.
33:29Oh,
33:30he's got a home here
33:31for sure.
33:31I mean,
33:31that was a good display.
33:34He gets a nice knockout
33:35at the end,
33:35nice highlight reel knockout
33:36against a very,
33:37very tough.
