00:24The Manila Times first reported that Chidoro had a valid Maltese passport from 2016 to 2026,

00:30but did not state whether his citizenship had already been renounced.

00:34Legal experts whom Rappler spoke with said if Chidoro had in fact renounced the Maltese citizenship,

00:39then the issue would be moot. Chidoro was appointed defense chief in July 2023,

00:44just as the appointment ban for losing 2022 candidates lapsed. As defense chief, Chidoro

00:49has executive supervision over several agencies, including the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
