How much credit does Alex Cora deserve? Just how bright is this Red Sox future?? Would you be willing to deal some of that 'future' if it means "going all in this season"?

00:54with the chemistry and and i don't think you want to do that but you need another pitcher and so you

00:59got to figure out how you're going to get that like look you gotta you gotta ask yourself if you're the

01:06red socks right now and you feel like the clubhouse is in a great position if removing a guy that

01:15and you will just use the rank as the name being used jaron's rank because we were talking about

01:20it last week we were talking about the fact that there was you had an uh an abundance of uh of wealth

01:28at the in the outfield position and you're going to get some value from right value for jaron duran

01:34and so go ahead i i would not i would not do it i would not do it at all but is the clubhouse in a

01:39good position where they can handle that they might be in a good position where they can handle that

01:45and they handle that in a positive way and that be part of alex core understanding and helping that

01:51because then that means you just get a guy like roman anthony playing every night well who's going

01:58to be in charge of the wally head if jaron duran goes i think that's my number one that's my major

02:02concern maybe bregman will pick up the slack yeah i think somebody who can find something they got to

02:07figure it out with bregman too and that's the other part of this stretch that we're going into with

02:12the trade deadline is we were hearing from scott boris a couple weeks ago got to get this trade

02:17done got to get this trade done and or sorry this extension this extension done um and i do think

02:24that there's some pressure there like the red socks may feel like they have leverage because

02:29he's been injured right but i still think that even before that he showed himself to be so desirable

02:35i'm not at the point where i know everybody loves craig breslow right now i'm still not at the

02:40point where i trust them handling somebody who might become a free agent because the red socks

02:45have not been good at that but he's got money with the red socks if he wants it he becomes a free agent

02:52if he feels like he can get more money out there right right but they can redo his contract in order

02:57to make it i would do that i said i had this as a lead last week and i feel it even more so today

03:05after what sedan rafaela said giving 90 of the credit when it comes to hitting the baseball to

03:12the help that he's gotten from alex praigman like give the guy what he wants like keep him here for

03:17how i feel for keep him here for a long time he's an additional coach he's a he's a veteran guy he's

03:32can't give him what he wants why yeah but at the same time if you don't keep him here no no you've

03:53you're not just going to say all right we're going to keep him here for the next six years and give

03:56him 225 million well if he wants term like for the next five years right and you make it six

04:03including this year and he wants something like 40 per i mean that's that's that's probably what

04:10he's gonna that's a lot of money it is you think he's worth 40 million he looked at before his injury

04:17and i don't think this is the kind of injury this is the second time he's dealt with this injury

04:21the other injury and he's 30 it happened like five years right but he's 32 right he's 32 years

06:06talking about devers yeah yeah the negative chemistry is more harmful than a than a clubhouse

06:12who feels like they've all got it going together yeah yeah because the negative chemistry is what

06:16brings you down because you can you could still have chemistry and not be like this super you know

06:22everybody's buddy buddy type of deal but it's more of that negative that want that guy that has

06:28enough juice where they can divide the locker room or they can get one group of guys buying into what

06:35that part that they're saying versus maybe what the manager's saying what the head coach is saying what

06:41the overall philosophy is like if a guy is carrying i thought you were saying oval office there and i was

06:48like well that's another part of the chemistry right now overall philosophy oh yeah i mean the streak

06:54started with a visit to the white house yeah or a visit to the zoo depending on who you ask so it's

09:40are willing to give up to get that back but it's got to be attractive enough to another team right and

09:45who's who who is attract who is uh attractive on this team to another team right there's a bunch of

09:54guys but who would you be willing to give up if it's not duran would it be abreu or what about like

10:06too many outfielders as it is you're gonna have to give if you're gonna get a legit what wiggy wants

10:11which is a legit starting pitch yes you're gonna have to give you know somebody who is

10:17playing in the bigs now currently and is helping that team uh immediately right and who would that

10:24be like if you're saying you don't want to give up duran okay who else do you have we're maybe

10:29packaging some prospects that you would be willing to give up well but also to greg's point like

10:35the city being invested in this team i would say duran has a stronger connection with fans around

10:43boston or around new england than a lot of the guys who are on the roster right now because of what he's

10:50been vulnerable yeah and open about in the netflix documentary and other stuff and so if you trade him

10:56even if it's a baseball trade and it makes sense on paper for what you're trying to do to to contend in

11:02the postseason does that turn some fans off who are like god they just trade everybody but if you

11:08need a number two i know but there's an emotional component but forget the emotion what's gonna

11:15happen when you get to the postseason and you lose and then you go and we needed another pitcher if we

11:21would have just had that second pitcher because maybe giolito struggled or bail wasn't the same if we

11:27would have had that other guy to step in after crochet right like that's what you could run into

11:35so does that mean maybe giving up a little chemistry would you give up a uh a guy like i was just looking

11:42at it um trevor story yeah i would give up trevor and then move i mean it puts some pressure on meyer

11:50but right so you know when you start also hitting really well over the last right but when you start

11:55to look at guys you could potentially have to give up romey gonzalez toro like who if you don't want

12:00to give up duran who else has enough value with some other pieces and prospects to get you that

12:08number two because you have to give up somebody to get that type of picture quality picture that you want

12:15right and so you got to be willing to part ways with somebody and you just got to figure out

12:19who that guy is yeah i don't i've tossed out a lot of names yeah i think it'll be hard for fans

12:26if duran gets traded i think you stand pat like i i really i think you look at the the way the team

12:32has played and what they did and you're all in on them you buy somebody who you think can help a

12:38little bit and you're you you but greg you can't buy what wrong you but then but then breslow could be

12:44easily greg if they do stand pat breslow is easily going to come out and say yeah tanner how's coming

12:48back like right that's our ad at the deadline and no one wants that and you can't buy without

12:52without giving something up i mean you have prospects with you have a ton of them right but

12:57as a ton of the prospects alone gonna get you a legitimate number two starter it's not gonna get

13:02you maybe a number two starter but it's gonna get you a starter that can go out and start every day

13:06but you don't like a legitimate rotation guy and i heard rich and jones talk about i forget the word

13:11that they use when they were talking about it you just don't want to go out and get another guy who

13:15gives you no you need a reliable guy but you don't need like a number two you don't need a

13:20secondary ace i was that's what breslow said you don't think so you you've seen enough from giolito

13:25and baio at this point to say this is who they are for the rest of the season i think they've pitched

13:29really well i think baio more so i'm more confident in baio than giolito but i i think like if you get a

13:34reliable starter not like dick fitz but a legitimate reliable starter on this team like you're in great

13:40catching strays saturday at that game when i was visiting uh my friend john who was the greatest

13:47bartender in fenway history this dude uh socks hardo was in my grill about paul skeins and about

13:57trading he he was like i would trade roman anthony today for paul skeins i would not and i would

14:04never i would never do it what i'd consider it what you would yeah he's paul skeins you're like

14:11have you watched this guy pitch what what is your crochet is second behind paul skeins in the last

14:17so imagine having both of them yes exactly right american garrett crochet is under control you don't

14:22need skeins you can get somebody who's less talented than that because you have an ace

14:27like you don't right but imagine having but imagine having both of them you maybe they have

14:31they can't start every day i feel like that's just being greedy and unrealistic no but no well maybe

14:37unrealistic maybe unrealistic maybe it is fantasy land i don't know but to have two aces but what

14:44would you give up for that if that means giving up roman anthony i wouldn't do that then you give

14:49up roman anthony to have two legitimate aces that you could have on the contract for the next what

14:54decade seven eight ten years and you know how important pitch it is when we talk yeah it's

15:00made the difference this my dude has a losing record with a sub two era like paul skeins is

15:05arguably the best and look at garrett look at garrett crochet like imagine having those two guys
