00:13Nakapaminsala sa mga bahura ang parachute anchor na ginamit ng barko para di tangayin ng alon.

00:25June 8, nang namataan ng mga maging isda, ang Chinese fishing vessel na ito,
00:30sa isang bahura mahigit dalawang kilometro mula sa silangan ng Pagasa Island.
00:35Paniwala noon ng mga residente at ng Philippine Navy, sumadzad ang barko dahil sa masamang panahon.
00:41Kalaunan, hinatak ang barko ng isa pang fishing vessel.
00:45Nang puntahan ang lugar nitong June 17,
00:47ng mga diver at marine scientist ng Palawan Council for Sustainable Development,
00:52tumambad sa kanila ang mga putol na hard at soft corals.
00:56Core zone pa naman ang bahura o ang pinakamahalagang bahagi ng marine ecosystem.
01:01Nakita din sa lalim na 9 meters ang isang parachute anchor na sumaklob sa higit 300 square meters na coral reef.
01:09Ayon sa PCSD, ang parachute anchor ay ginagamit para hindi tangayin ng alon ang isang barko sa bahagi ng dagat na masyadong malalim.
01:18Without sunlight, the coral reef will die.
01:22There are millions of plants and animals thriving, living in the coral reef.
01:29So such destruction will greatly affect ang ating coral ecosystem.
01:35We employed po two methodologies for this assessment.
01:39One is the rapid underwater assessment using scuba.
01:43So basically, we measure the extent and we document everything that we found na relevant po doon sa incident.
01:53And the other method that we employed is the reef scan.
01:58Sa taya ng PCSD, mahigit 11 million pesos ang pinsala sa mahigit 400 square meters ng coral reef.
02:05Isinumitin na ng PCSD ang mga rekomendasyon nila sa National Task Force on the West Philippine Sea.
02:11The findings of the PCSD will be transmitted to the NTFWPS wherein the Department of Foreign Affairs and the Department of Justice are also part.
02:21So it's up to these two agencies how they can be able to enforce this damage claim.
02:29Ayon sa Philippine Coast Guard, napag-alaman nilang China ang may-ari ng nakapamerwisyong fishing vessel.
02:35We know for a fact that when it ran aground, it immediately communicated with the Chinese Coast Guard.
02:41So it goes to show that they know each other.
02:46Sinusubukan pa namin na kuhanan ng pahayagang Chinese embassy tungkol sa insidente.
02:50Prioridad na ng PCG at PCSD na tanggalin ang parachute anchor na nakatabon sa coral reef.
