00:00Perikatan National's decision not to collaborate with Gabungan Rakyat Sabah in the upcoming Sabah election works in GRS's favor, said GRS Deputy Secretary-General Armizan Muhammad Ali.
00:14Armizan said with Sabah Barisan National and PN independently distancing themselves from GRS, it has made matters simpler for the coalition.
00:23He said GRS remains focused on earning public support rather than forming alliances with other political groups.
00:31Armizan also highlighted the strength of local parties, saying they hold the final say in selecting candidates for the election.
00:38He said unlike national coalitions, local party leaders in Sabah issue appointment letters and the chief minister is chosen from among elected representatives.
00:47He added that it is time to reject the idea of Peninsula-based parties acting as political masters over Sabah.
00:55Yesterday, PN Chairman Mohidin Yassin said the coalition rejected any political cooperation with GRS in the state election, citing what he described as a betrayal by GRS after its leaders, then-members of Versatu, left the party in November 2022 following the 16th general election.
