00:00Accepting Nick Adams as the next U.S. ambassador to Malaysia will be seen as a direct insult

00:04to the Muslim community and the Malaysians who support Palestine, a past youth leader

00:09Selangor Past Youth Chief Sukri Omar claimed Adams had previously made Islamophobic comments

00:15and expressed strong support for Israel.

00:18He cited a post by Adams on social media in which he claimed to have pressured a U.S.

00:22restaurant to dismiss a waitress for wearing a free Palestine pin.

00:27In a Facebook post, Sukri said Malaysia cannot accept the appointment of someone who openly

00:31targets those who support Palestine and ridicules any expression of solidarity with the Palestinian

00:36cause.

00:38Sukri also urged Wismaputra to exercise its rights under the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic

00:43Relations, which allows host countries to reject ambassadorial nominees deemed unsuitable

00:48or potentially disruptive to domestic harmony.

00:52He urged the government to send the message that Malaysia will never allow itself to become

00:55a platform for Zionist normalization or a testing ground for Islamophobic extremism.
