Bhopal — A video of Bhind district magistrate Sanjeev Srivastava slapping a student multiple times during an exam in Madhya Pradesh has gone viral.
The incident took place on April 1 during a BSc Mathematics exam at Deendayal Dangraulia Mahavidyalaya. In the video, Srivastava drags student Rohit Rathore from his chair, slaps him repeatedly, and questions him about his exam paper. Rathore later claimed the assault injured his ear but said he felt powerless to protest because Srivastava is an IAS officer.
Srivastava defended his actions, citing an investigation into an organised cheating racket. He recommended the college, owned by a politician’s relative, be disqualified as an exam centre.
Srivastava has faced prior controversies, with the High Court questioning his conduct in another case and a local tehsildar accusing him and another officer of mental harassment in a complaint to the Chief Minister.
