Agra — The Food Safety and Drug Administration (FSDA) in Agra dumped 5,000 litres of adulterated milk worth ₹1.25 lakh after intercepting a suspicious milk tanker from Morena, Madhya Pradesh. The crackdown followed the suspicious deaths of two children who had consumed milk the previous night.
Acting on a tip-off, the FSDA found the tanker carrying “sapareta milk” — diluted with other substances — in violation of food safety norms and without temperature control. Samples were collected, and the dairy firm was penalised.
An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the children’s deaths and the extent of milk adulteration. The FSDA has vowed strict action against those responsible, highlighting the need for stronger enforcement of food safety standards in the region.
