00:00Another divisional duel to end out the final weekend ahead of the All-Star break.
00:04An in-state showdown between the foes, the Astros, and the Rangers.
00:08Texas scoring 11 runs yesterday in a high-scoring four-game set all week in Anaheim
00:14to split that four-game series with the Angels.
00:18Baseball is a funny thing, man.
00:19The Astros entered 24-8 into their midweek set against the Guardians.
00:24They were the best team since the start of June in the bigs.
00:27The Guardians entered this week in Houston, dropping 10 consecutive.
00:32Cleveland swept Houston on the road in H-Town.
00:35The Strohs trying to get back into the win column.
00:38A slight favorite at home tonight.
00:40DRS, what do you like between the Rangers and the Astros?
00:43I'll tell you, here's what's interesting about Lance McCullers.
00:45Three games ago against the White Sox, five innings pitched, four earned runs.
00:48Two games ago against the Chicago Cubs, doing like that Chicago sweep there.
00:51Three in the third innings pitched, eight earned runs, but really bounced back
00:55in that series where you saw against the Dodgers or the Houston Astros were phenomenal.
00:59He went six innings, one earned run, but only four strikeouts.
01:02And if you combine his last two starts over nine and a third innings, it's only five total strikeouts.
01:07It used to be Lance McCullers coming up through Major League Baseball,
01:10had a devastating breaking pitch and a hammer arm.
01:12But ever since the injuries have really slowed him down,
01:15does that mean that we think that Houston can just get lit up tonight by the Texas Rangers bats?
01:19I'm not saying that.
01:20But as we started the show today having fun with Corey Seager, man, he looks perfect again tonight.
01:2578 at-bat hits, right-handed pitching over the past month, Ben.
01:28A .333 ISO and a .426 weighted on base percentage and a low K rate against a guy
01:33that doesn't strike very many guys out.
01:35He's got to be on your card tonight for at least an RBI, extra bases, whatever you want to bet.
01:39Jack Leiter, not in love with him either.
01:41Right-handed pitcher doesn't get right-handed bats out,
01:43and you're going to see a lot of right-handed bats tonight.
01:46So if I'm looking from a perspective of a team total, maybe I go Houston.
01:49If I want a betting side for Texas, it's going to be Corey Seager to get an extra base hit
01:53and or an RBI in this game tonight.
01:56DRS, the New York Mets yesterday in a doubleheader in Baltimore.
02:00Lost both against the O's.
02:02New York now on the road to end out their final weekend ahead of the All-Star break
02:06in Kansas City against the Royals.
02:08Enter the ace, Kodai Senga.
02:10The Mets minus 136 as a road money line favorite on this Friday.
02:14You see the graphic.
02:15They need a strong finish.
02:17It's been a little bit shaky till end of June.
02:20Here now in July, dropping two straight against Baltimore in a doubleheader yesterday.
02:26How will the Mets finish their final weekend set before the All-Star break?
02:30They should do well.
02:31There's some rain in the forecast there, but 12-mile-hour winds blowing out
02:34in 80-degree temperatures.
02:35You do have to like that.
02:36Disappointing were the Mets at the plate yesterday,
02:38even though an all-team total of over two-and-a-half runs does sort of help the parlay.
02:42But there were much lower expectations that ended up with it than what I thought to start
02:47the day.
02:47But having said that, Michael Walker coming into the card today, Ben, 27th out of 31 pitchers
02:52over the past 60 days with a minimum of 10 innings pitched here with an X-fit minus a
02:56minus 112.
02:56It's not that bad, but that ERA is at a 4.53, and the X-fit number is a 4.60.
03:02You look square in that number and say, look at Juan Soto's last 70 at-bats against right-handed
03:07pitching, a 4.73 ISO and a 5.62 weighted on base percentage.
03:11He should be on your card.
03:13But you know what?
03:13I also have a pretty good read on the Mets.
03:15I think the Mets are going to win this game, too.
03:17That minus 135 or so price, probably worth your while today with Senga on the mound.
03:21Kodai Senga is back.
03:22His first start in nearly a month.
03:25He has been really good this year.
03:27When healthy, 7-3 with a 1-4-7 ERA.
