National Highways is warning drivers to stop tailgating. We ask people in Birmingham how they react when someone drives too close—and what should be done to keep roads safer.
00:00I saw you. I hate it. It's so aggressive for no reason. I understand that you want to get to your destination quicker, but you're making it so much unsakeful for everyone else, and especially when all the headlights are so bright now. So not only are you this close to me, your light is right in my mirror. I can't see anything. I'm screaming because I'm so anxious. But it's just horrible. I just think everyone needs to be so much more aware.
00:25I think it's just people getting angry, and they're getting angry in that moment, but it's just going to upset the person being tailgated as well. And I don't know. I think it's very easy to get angry on the road, but in the end, it's just going to make everybody more annoyed. So I think, yeah, it should be kind of prevented tailgating.
00:45I get quite annoyed if they do that to me. So I just try and stay as far away from this possible, because you never know where an accident's going to happen with people of that kind.
