In your experience, how well do drivers and cyclists share the road — and what could make it safer?

00:00On Friday while cycling, one of my associates was out on a ride and the car came so close that my friend was able to bang on the car, to which the driver accelerated and knocked him off his bike.
00:20If I was an avid cyclist, I wouldn't use the roads. They're too dangerous, they just are.
00:27Most of the cyclists are on the pavement.
00:30Yeah, they don't really share the road that often anymore.
00:33Cyclists don't obey traffic lights. I mean, there's enough motorists that don't obey traffic lights.
00:39It's more and more cycle lanes. It's as simple as that.
00:43When you look at some of the roads, new roads compared with old roads, roads that have been going for 40, 50 years,
00:52i.e. Rainford bypass, East Langs Road, all had cycle paths on from all them years ago when there was very few cars on the road.
00:59There was plenty of cars on the road that was on the road.
