The family of Supt Ahmad Bustamin Baharom, who was among five injured in a police helicopter crash at Sungai Pulai during a mock nuclear training exercise on Thursday (July 10), is relieved that he is on track for recovery.

00:19from their home in Kedah last night to visit him at Hospital Sultana Amina. Baharum recounted
00:24how his son had called just before the exercise to inform him about boarding the helicopter.
00:30Shortly after, he received a shocking call from authorities reporting that the aircraft
00:35had crashed into the water. The father expressed gratitude that his 46-year-old son managed to
00:42escape the submerged helicopter before rescue teams arrived. Superintendent Ahmad suffered
00:49back injuries, including fractured ribs and facial swelling. Senior Assistant Commissioner
00:54Ahmad Lokman Abdul Hadi, Deputy Commander of Operations of Bukit Aman Air Operations Force,
01:02visited the victims earlier, followed by Iskandar Puteri OCPD Assistant Commissioner M. Kumarasan.
