Helicopter crash in Bentong kills one, leaves another injured

A Bell 206L-4 Long Ranger helicopter caught fire while landing at Jalan Lama Kuala Lumpur-Bentong, Pahang, resulting in the death of one individual and the rescue of another.  The incident occurred near a hot spring in Bentong where the helicopter, transporting equipment for cable installation, was completely destroyed by fire. 00:07According to sources, a fire broke out as the helicopter attempted to land.

00:12The aircraft lost control and caught fire.

00:15The victim was confirmed dead at the scene after being struck on the head by the rotor

00:20The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia has issued an official statement confirming that

00:24a member of the ground crew had died while the helicopter pilot is reported safe.

00:29It added that further investigation will be conducted by the Air Accident Investigation

00:33Bureau under the Transport Ministry.

00:36A spokesperson from the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department stated that they received

00:40an emergency call at 10.39am before firefighters from the Bentong Fire and Rescue Station were

00:47dispatched to the location.

00:49The fire was successfully brought under control and fully extinguished by 11.06am and the

00:55victim's body has been handed over to the police for further action.
