Our reporter, Alastair Ulke, at the scene of a police cordon in Shiregreen this morning
Transcript
00:00Morning Sheffield, it's Alistair from the Sheffield Star and I'm speaking to you
00:03from the junction of Nether Shire Lane, Godrick Road and Perkin Road up in
00:07Shire Green area. As you might be able to see behind me there's quite an extensive
00:10police scene this morning. This is the result of a incident around 8 p.m.
00:14yesterday which I believe to be a stabbing. We've been speaking to
00:17residents in the area who say around 8 p.m. yesterday a woman was at home she
00:21was with her kids when she heard a lot of screaming outside. When she came to a
00:25window she saw a man there asking people for help saying I need help I need an
00:28ambulance and there might have even been a car that drove away from the scene quite
00:32quickly but we get to confirm that. Police arrived at the scene very soon afterwards
00:35and this cordon was set up and this has been the case now for approaching 12
00:39hours. Despite this very large police scene it has interrupted with people's
00:43day. This is a junction between three roads and people trying to get to school
00:47get to work have been quite grievously interrupted. That being said from what I've
00:50been here this morning it's quite a calm scene. Police are pursuing their work
00:53quite smoothly and there doesn't seem to be any interruptions but quite a scary
00:57scene for residents in the area. We're trying to find out more about it this
01:01morning and we'll be able to bring you more about it as it happens.
