00:00Transmit is just a couple of days away what is probably the busiest and most lively weekend
00:04in Glasgow's annual calendar. We're currently forecasted for a heat wave, blue skies and
00:09scorching temperatures, so even more reason to get outside and celebrate the city's vibrant
00:14music scene in the sun. Here is a guide to some food and drink spots close to Glasgow Green,
00:19some good fast food places and pubs with good beer gardens. Visit these on your way down to
00:24the festival or even if you don't have a ticket but still want to go out and experience some of
00:28the atmosphere. So if we start in the city centre, if you're coming off the train at Queen Street or
00:33Central, right down at the bottom of Buchanan Street is Hootenanny's. Right beside the Clyde,
00:38it's got a large beer garden dedicated to Glasgow hero Billy Connolly around the back. They serve
00:42classic pub food, open from 11am daily. Then walk down slightly to King's Court. There's Mono,
00:48which serves a range of vegan food and drinks. The beer garden here is an absolute sun trap,
00:53so it's perfect. The restaurant also houses Monorail Music, an independent record shop,
00:58so you're guaranteed some good music vibes. Across the road from Mono is Sister Midnight,
01:02a new sandwich shop that's proved really popular locally. Grab one on the way. Or else there's
01:07Shawarma King, winner of the best Scottish kebab for multiple years running. Around the corner then,
01:12at Bridge Gate, there's the Clutha Bar, another sun trap. They have a pizza and pint deal between 12 and
01:197pm. And they're hosting free live music all weekend with free entry. Then to the Salt Market,
01:26there's Damaskino, which do excellent quality Lebanese food for sit-in or takeaway. And then
01:31just across from Glasgow Green, facing the Transmont main entrance is Whistler on the green.
01:36There's a wee beer garden. They're doing classic pub food all weekend with DJs on.
