Taiwan’s Armed Forces have released new footage from the “Han Kuang-41” military exercise, showing four M1A2T Abrams tanks conducting live-fire drills at the Kengzikou training ground.
For the first time, the Taiwanese Army deployed the American-made tanks during its annual drills. The exercise involved firing at both static and moving targets, with the tanks operating while stationary and on the move, replicating realistic combat scenarios.
A total of 19 fin-stabilised sabot training rounds were fired at mock targets representing the PLA’s Type 05 amphibious assault vehicles and Type 99 main battle tanks, both of which are in service with China’s People’s Liberation Army.
According to Taiwanese officials, the exercise aims to test and enhance the island’s defensive capabilities in response to potential regional threats.
