00:00IIM Rotak is now the largest amongst second and third generation IIMs in the country.

00:10IIM Rotak continues to offer diverse programs aside from its flagship programs of MBA and PhD.

00:19One of our most important programs which we launched is Postgraduate Diploma in Sports Management.

00:26This program is primarily interdisciplinary program which looks at the dimensions of sports management

00:34from the eyes of sports infrastructure management, managing large-scale events, sports finance,

00:43sporting law, sports marketing, sports branding, how to manage operations of a sporting event

00:52and finally how should one develop into an excellent sporting coach among other things.

01:01This program is a combination of online and offline.

01:07Students are expected to be on campus three to four times in a year

01:13and remaining classes are conducted online on the weekends.

01:18This is a program which leverages on the blended learning which is supposed to offer optimal level of education

01:27for individuals who are working professionals.

01:32We expect that our forthcoming batches are as good as our current ones.

01:38The first batch had nearly half of its participants from sporting backgrounds already working in the domain of sports management

01:47and wanting to leverage on the learnings from this program to take them to the next level.

01:52We also have a diverse group of people from other industries who wish to get into this large and ever-growing sports industry.

02:03Today, India has many sporting leagues.

02:07We have the most successful sporting cricket league.

02:11We have an excellent Kabaddi league.

02:13We also have a growing league in badminton, in soccer and in many other sports.

02:19All of these leagues are going to require professionals.

02:23These professionals are the ones who are trained to offer value to these sports management companies.

02:30Finally, it is extremely important for us not just to look at the sporting leagues but also sports federations.

02:39Each sport in India has a federation.

02:42And all the federations also require professionals with astute knowledge of sports management to leverage.

02:49India will become the sporting giant in the next decade.

02:55And for it to become a sporting giant, we require sports management professionals.
