00:00Hello from a very noisy Easter Road Stadium that behind me is the Rote Essence fans who have been here in large numbers to watch their team play at Friendly and it's headed to Easter Road to mark the 150th anniversary of the Edinburgh Club.
00:18These two teams met 70 years ago in the European Cup, either side quite on the lofty perch that they once sat upon, but this game was a feisty encounter actually between the German third tier side and Damon Gray's Hibs team who are preparing for their own European proper adventure in the Europa League when they take on FC Midgetland in a couple of weeks' time.
00:41Essence gave them a pretty good workout in the second half. Hibs were 2 to love at the 14 minutes through Jamie McGrath and Junior Hoylet and it looked like Hibs were going to run away with this match.
00:52As you go to the German side, they battled back pretty impressively, scored two goals in the space of four minutes to level out of two all. Hibs went back in front through Martin Boyle to lead 3-2 for a quarter to go, but Essence weren't finished yet.
01:05They actually won a penalty late on, which was saved by Hibs' new Austrian goalkeeper Rafa Slinger, making amends, I would say, for looking a little bit suspect for one of Essence's goals.
01:15You should never read too much of the pieces of Friendly's. It was a good workout for a number of these Hibs players as they get themselves fine-tuned for more important assignments.
01:23It was good to see Josh Mulligan play in midfield after his setting for Hibs two weeks ago.
01:29And no doubt Hibs head coach David Grayle will be pleased to get more minutes in the legs.
01:33Only real downside injuries to Hibs defender Lewis Willer and forward Ellie Youhad.
01:39Grayle hope they're not too serious ahead of their trip to Bournemouth next week.
