00:00Hundreds of millions of pesos changed hands during the reign of online cockfight gaming

00:04in the time of a three-year pandemic when money was so hard to come by.

00:09Those involved in this massive money-making activity include gambling lords, police officers,

00:14politicians, showbiz celebrities, cockpit master agents, Gamecock handlers, gaffers, and bettors.

00:21So it isn't a surprise if the body count of fixers, handlers, and other shady characters

00:26exceed a hundred as the president directed law enforcement and the DOJ to dig even deeper into the case

00:33as our Luisa Erispe reports.

00:37The palace believes an extensive investigation on the missing sabongeros needs to be done.

00:42This is after Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Lemulia confirmed in one of his interviews

00:47that the suspects behind the missing sabongeros may be the same suspects behind the drug war of the Duterte administration.

01:22The Department of Justice or DOJ earlier said that they are already conducting a deeper investigation on the case

01:29and figured that the crime may be considered corporate.

01:32Aside from businessman Atong Ang and actress Rechon Barreto,

01:37as mentioned by suspect alias Totoy,

01:39there are other individuals allegedly being linked on the case.

02:39Remulya called on other suspects to coordinate with their office before they start cracking down each of them.

02:51In the long run, the case is going to haunt all of them.

02:56This is a long drawn-out case and the earlier they come in, the better.

02:59Pinasabi natin lahat ng may alam dyan pagsalita na kayo kasi nga baka kayo naman ang aming susunod.

03:07On the investigation on the alleged involvement of a judge in the case,

03:10Remulya said he will let the Supreme Court handle the investigation on the matter.

03:15I respect the Supreme Court and I know that they will not leave any stone unturned in their quest to straighten out our justice system.

03:26Alam nila na some of the problems are there because of the way that our justice system is configured.

03:34But PCSO Chairperson Felix P. Reyes released a statement after his name was dragged by alias Totoy as the so-called involved judge.

03:42Reyes denied allegations and asked Totoy to reveal specific cases he fixed for Atong Ang and if none, he dared Totoy to rather be silent instead.

03:52Reyes is ready to cooperate with the investigation.

03:54Meanwhile, on the search operations to be done this week, the DOJ said the body of the missing Sabongeros can be used as evidence in the case.

04:03But if not found, they believe conviction is still possible if there are other pieces of evidence against the suspects and of the crime.
