00:00Hello, my name is Korek Bojanowski, I am a film director and now we are in Kinia Mondo.
00:06Up and coming Polish film director Korek Bojanowski has just been to Shanghai and Brussels where he has showcased his directorial debut, A Loss of Balance.
00:16Euronews spoke to the director about his current acclaims and future projects.
00:21I am a fan of the most fan of the horror, the most fan of the comedy, the most fan of the movie.
00:28I love the cinema, it is creating a landscape of the world.
00:34I'm talking about a group of students who are preparing for a diploma, on their road there is a new director and the game is starting between them.
00:43Bojanowski says that in his film he wanted to deeply explore his character's internal emotions.
00:49A Loss of Balance is inspired by a real life scandal in Polish film schools that took place in 2020, after a series of revelations by former students revealed a toxic atmosphere.
01:04The movement which began on social media started a larger conversation about film school.
01:09It was over 60-70 years of acting school in Poland.
01:14It was just something that was on a regular basis.
01:16And in the end, all of them knew.
01:19Only one girl decided to write, that it was not so that we are going to continue.
01:25It was a powerful trauma that we had to do with this.
01:28It was a powerful trauma that we had to do with this.
01:30And in the end, all of a sudden, the professors, with regard to that they have the power, they have the power, they have the power and the power and the power and the power and the power and the power.
01:40Coming of Age is also a common theme in Bojanowski's works.
01:44The Loss of Balance was first recognized at the Gdynia Film Festival in 2024 and most recently in Brussels at the closing of the Polish EU presidency.
02:03A Loss of Balance was also recently screened in Shanghai where it won an award for its screenplay.
02:22Bojanowski emphasizes that for the Polish film industry he is quite a young face.
02:45Even if I debuted in the 30th century, I think it is super young, because in Poland even 38-year-old directors are young.
02:54I was asked if it was good, that the chances are coming later, that these young people are looking for it.
03:00It is interesting for me, but it has been a lot of time.
03:02But it has been a lot of time.
03:03Korek Bojanowski is already working on his second film, which he plans to film this year.
03:07There is also a film of leading parents.
03:10It was also much of the
03:23that the world seems to have to be in front of us, but it's not.
03:27And this is the second stage of adulthood, when we are not in the world, but in ourselves.
03:32So, a vision of us falls.
03:34And it seems to me that the people who are, like my age, 31-35 years old,
03:39that this is the next stage, and it's a bit about that.
03:41But I am strongly in Warsaw, because I am from Warsaw,
03:45and it inspires me as a city, how it changes.
03:48He reveals that his next film will be a black comedy.
