Gorakhpur — Tension erupted in Piprauli of the GIDA area after a video of objectionable slogans raised during the tenth-day Muharram procession went viral on social media.
Angry villagers staged a protest, following which police registered a case against three named persons — Sheru, Shahil, and Aman — along with 100 unidentified individuals based on a complaint by the outpost in-charge.
According to police, the main accused, Sheru, allegedly raised the slogans using a DJ mike. All three accused were taken into custody, where they were seen apologising for their actions.
